the bible tells that YHWH was a man and that he created man in his own image and then from mans rib he made a woman!
Conterary to this, the female, is the creator of life, via the egg, thus wouldn't it be prudent to assume God is a women? Hypothetically of course.

also the bible taught that man was made first, thus women were, by nature, second to the man. don't you think that this assumption has held the female of our species, back. many religions around the world still hold true to this notion, what does this say to Christian women about the creators of the bible and do they resent this fact? in short, do you women think you are second to man in the eyes of God?

For all of your apelike abilities? These opposable thumbs are indispensible. I'd personally like to thank all of my apelike ancestors for my ability to walk upright and to grip the handles on my motorcycle. Thank you so much!

Last time I asked this the answers went more to whether Sola Scriptura is valid. In this question I do not care whether you feel it is valid. I want simple plain answers to the following two questions.

1) Is everything you need to be saved contained in the scripture?

2) If the answer to question 1 is yes why do we need more than the scriptue?

Please no comments about whether or not sola scriptura is valid.

Many Qs & As here seem to compare contemporary God of Christianity and other religions with gods recorded throughout history: Greek gods, Roman gods, etc. Does anyone know if there is any evidence of atheism back then? How far back does atheism go? Is it something relatively new?

then how come there aren't all different animals of the world living there NOW? Or at least some remains to show that they were there at one time? Did the penguins walk back to the arctic, the marsupials migrate to Australia, etc... and shouldn't there be a trail of remains showing this journey? (i.e. bones and other fossil remnnants)?

i was told that adam and eve started off as perfect even though there was sinning in their future, and that the reason they sinned is simply because they had freewill. --- i would have thought though that a perfect being could manage to have freewill AND refrain from sinning. for example, wouldn't you say that god is a perfect being who manages to have freewill and still not sin? or does god lack freewill?

I'm trying to review french grammar rules for direct object pronouns, but I don't understand what my textbook means. It says that past participles agree with PRECEDING direct objects, but in the example the direct object is not preceding, and it still agrees. I'm so confused!! Here is what it says:

"If there is a preceding direct object and there is a past participle, the past participle must agree with the object:
Ils ont vendu sa bibliotheque ---> Ils l'ont vendue. "
(emphasizing the l' and the e at the end of vendue).

Can anyone tell me what I am missing? Thank you so much!

I've seen a few people on here give other people what I believe to be bad advice, based on a myth or misconception. For example, shaving makes hair grow faster and thicker, the hymen is impossible to see, and trimming makes your hair grow faster.

I thought I should ask this to give everyone an opportunity to correct (properly, preferably with an explanation and some research done) the myths/misconceptions that they've seen. So, anyone?

Also, if you feel that any of these myths -are- true, and can prove it, feel free to do so.

The number of times that I have read people describe religion as "the root of all evil" and say things like "religion causes division", "religions cause wars" etc. I don't mean any offence to Islam and Christianity whatsoever (I see all religions as belonging to God), but out of the 6 major religions in the world today, it has only been Islam and Christianity that have ever engaged in wars of religion or have used religion to justify aggression and violence. What wars have other religions, such as Hinduism, Budhism, Sikhism, Jainism, Judaism, Shintiosm, Confuciasm etc been involved in???

Why do people blame religion for wars when out of all major religions it has only been 2 that have ever engaged in wars of religion????

My father died reciently and I have been waiting desprately to 'feel' his presence. i am getting married soon, obviously he won't be there to walk me down the isle. i just want to know he's still with me. am i trying too hard to sense him? or am a fool for believing in an afterlife? please advise.
