Not necessarily but it's a good bet. We know that there will be two great witnesses before the return of Christ. Obviously there will be at least two more prophets.
Edit: Why do these people keep saying it is in the O.T. that warned of false prophets?
Mat. 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
Also to say the law and the prophets are fulfilled does not mean the end of them...The law will not perish it is not the end of the law nor is it necessarily the end of the prophets.

Depends on your definition of "prophet". There are two terms used in the Greek, one denotes specifically a false prophet. The words "false prophet(s)" only occurs 11 times in the New Testament. In all these cases, it is used as warning to those who the letters or gospels were written to, to beware of those who preach another gospel and another Jesus. After the canon of Scripture was written, there was no need of prophets, since the Bible is God's final revelation to man, there is nothing more to say. Anyone who claims to be a prophet after the canon of Scripture was decided, is to be viewed suspiciously. There is no need for prophets today, we have the complete word of God in the Scriptures.

I think so, but then again, my religion has a prophet, so of course I believe there are prophets today.
*EDIT*
The Law and the Prophets relates to the Old Testament. The Law, was of course the law of moses. The Prophets were the books written after that, and up to the New Testament. No where in the bible does it say that prophecy or prophets will stop, in fact it says the opposite.

It not basically is obtainable for God to communicate to prophets immediately, i be attentive to it occurs. Which reminds me of a trick question. I also have a jar with a hundred blue marbles, a hundred pink marbles, and a hundred eco-friendly marbles. I close my eyes and attain in and pull out a blue marble. i seem at it and spot that that's a blue marble. what's the hazard that that's a blue marble? properly the hazard is a hundred pc, through fact I already be attentive to what I pulled out. all of us be attentive to that there is a a hundred pc hazard that there'll be truer prophets, through fact we've them. you may argue that Jesus is the fulfillment of the regulation, however the Bible talks approximately actual prophets after Jesus. The Bible talks approximately human beings not changing what John wrote, yet no the place interior the Bible does it say that GOD won't be able to upload greater revelation. No the place does it say that there'll be not greater prophets. That feels like a rather important oversight, if there have been to be not greater prophets. And, as you ingredient out, there could be plenty much less confusion in this subject if the scripture had basically stated, "pay attention of all and sundry in any respect who includes you claiming to be a prophet, for there'll be not greater prophets." The Bible does not say this through fact they knew there could be greater prophets. Why stop a competent element? Does all and sundry heavily think of that it could be undesirable for us to have actual prophets on earth immediately?

Any prophet must be 100 per cent accurate and they must teach what Jesus taught us. If they deny Jesus is God, they can not be a prophet. Like the Muslim prophet or Joseph Smith....they deny Jesus as the Father....
There are a lot of people today,,,in the Pentecostal faith especially, that have the gift of prophecy,,,but it is in giving a message for the church and must have an interpreter present...in God's word there is always a witness,,usually two or more....it is available to all of God's children, but those who don't believe, do not receive anything from God. A lot of churches teach on the fruits of the spirit,,,,but ignore the power gifts,,,,the gifts of the spirit....that empower thier church...they are churches without the power of God in them....just lukewarm at best....

beware of the bible;
a True Prophet is for Humanity & Spirituality (like me),
a false prophet is associated with just religion.
Find out if I am a True Prophet and DO this:
Create Your Relationship with Our Creator and have UnConditional Love and Peace in Your Life.

As we both know, "HAD" is past tense.
Who's to say that one HAS come between now and Jesus, except the people who categorically claim that only one came after Jesus, and that he was FOR SURE "the last"?
It's always convenient for a man to CLAIM he is a prophet, AND the last prophet. That man would be a false prophet. His name begins with an M, and his followers are pathological liars when it comes to defending and promoting their religion.
BIRDS OF A FEATHER....

Careful. The statement about false prophets PRECEDES Christ's time.
Also, this needs to be taken into consideration:
Luke 16:16 The law and the prophets were until John: since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.
If the law and prophets were until John, then they do not come after John.
What we need to concern ourselves with are false Christians and false religious leaders claiming to be Christian.
And there are a bunch of them out there, and people are poorly prepared to recognize them for what they are; wolves in wool suits.

Jesus warned us that “false Christs and false prophets” will come and will attempt to deceive even God’s elect (Matthew 24:23-27; see also 2 Peter 3:3 and Jude 17-18). To best guard yourself against falsehood and false teachers - know the truth. To spot a counterfeit, study the real thing. Any believer who is, “rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15), and who makes a careful study of the Bible, can identify false doctrine. For example, a believer who has read the activities of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit in Matthew 3:16-17 will immediately question any doctrine that denies the Trinity. Therefore, “step one” is to study the Bible and judge all teaching by what the scripture says.
Jesus said “a tree is known by his fruit” (Matthew 12:33). When looking for “fruit,” here are three specific tests to apply to any teacher to determine the accuracy of his or her teaching:
1) What does this teacher say about Jesus? In Matthew 16:15, Jesus asks, “Whom say ye that I am?” Peter answers, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God,” and for this answer Peter is called “blessed.” In 2 John 9, we read, “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.” In other words, Jesus Christ and His work of redemption is of utmost importance; beware anyone who denies that Jesus is equal with God, who downplays Jesus’ substitutionary death, or who rejects Jesus’ humanity. First John 2:22 says, “Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.”
2) Does this teacher preach the gospel? The gospel is defined as the good news concerning Jesus’ death, burial, and resurrection, according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4). As nice as they sound, the statements “God loves you,” “God wants us to feed the hungry,” and “God wants you to be wealthy” are NOT the complete message of the gospel. As Paul warns in Galatians 1:7, “There be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.” No one, not even a great preacher, has the right to change the message that God gave us. “If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:9).
3) Does this teacher exhibit character qualities that glorify the Lord? Speaking of false teachers, Jude 11 says, “They have gone in the way of Cain, and ran greedily after the error of Balaam for reward, and perished in the gainsaying of Korah.” In other words, a false teacher can be known by his pride (Cain’s rejection of God’s plan), greed (Balaam’s prophesying for money), and rebellion (Korah’s promotion of himself over Moses).
For further study, review those books of the Bible that were written specifically to combat false teaching within the church: Galatians, 2 Peter, 2 John, and Jude. It is often difficult to spot a false teacher / false prophet. That is what a “wolf in sheep’s clothing” is all about. Satan and his demons masquerade as “angels of light” (2 Corinthians 11:14), and his ministers masquerade as servants of righteousness (2 Corinthians 11:15). Only by being thoroughly familiar with the truth will we be able to recognize a counterfeit.

I'd agree... it seems that the warnings against false prophets imply that there will also be true prophets. Notice, the warnings aren't against ALL prophets that will come.
