“In my soul I feel just that terrible pain of loss, of God not wanting me – of God not being God – of God not existing.”

It was said by a person I admire for the works she performed in this world – Mother Teresa. Even though I never agreed with her religious views, I believe she exemplified the best of humanity. Profound doubt has always been the lot of many of the truly religious, and especially of the religious figures who contribute to bettering the world.

What say ye who claim that you've never had a doubt?

Please, just check this out. Listen to Corporate Avengers song "Christians murdered Indians", just so everybody gets a taste of what happened back then. Please, im not bashing religion, not promoting satanism, in fact the exact opposite, just helping people understand a truth. Anyway, also visit this link and while listening to the song and read along. Or, if you dont have access to stuff such as itunes, just read the lyrics. Let me know how you feel, coming from whichever belief you are devoted to. It doesnt matter to me, i respect everybody. http://www.darklyrics.com/lyrics/corporateavenger/freedomisastateofmind.html#3

I love the friendliness of the people, the natural beauty of the landscape, the fact that SC preserves greenspace, I can go to the ocean or go to the mountains, enjoy natural waterfalls, I enjoy 4 seasons and mild winters, I absolutely love it here and am grateful that I have chosen this place to live. I live in a city that is so rich historically that sometimes I am awestruck. How about you?

Isn't talking to an atheist about religion much like talking about shampoo with a bald person?

Eh I don't want to be partial so here is one for them:

Isn't talking to a Creationist about science like talking about math to someone who cannot count?

So which one do you like more? The shampoo with a bald person, or the math to someone who cannot count? Or are both equally funny/stupid? Can you come up with better ones?

fornicators ....as Achtung says so often

"The majority of those who are disfellowshipped from the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses are unrepentant fornicators."

I never see statictical sources, which calls in to question the validity of such statements.

thanks

Do you (as a Witness) beleive that Jehovah is using the internet as an avenue of bringing in "sheep like ones"? Would you, or do you, feel comfortable telling fellow Witnesses (even elders) that you count some of your ministry on the internet? Any emails are welcome. This is a genuine question that I have been wondering lately.

Please, no negative comments from non Witnesses, thankyou.

Christians,
Attention please
In your Bible ther is no chapter by the name of Mary
but in our Holy Quran it is there!
Surah Maryam (Chapter Mary)
Thus Muslims are more Christians than Christians themselves!

I'm just asking because i may be a fluffy bunny, all i have ever read was the laws wiccans follow, such as never use magick when your angry, never magick a child, and these books contrasts the difference between REAL witches and Posers. I want to follow the rules so i don't break them, what morals they follow. I wanted to follow the others.

What's a fluffy bunny? I may be one. I'm not sure

For those who don't believe in divine punishment or rewards in the afterlife...does it matter whether you choose to live your life as Mother Theresa or Hitler? I mean, who cares if you do good? There's no reward for it and it's hard to be good.

Why not go for power, money and decadance? And if you step on some people in your quest for happiness, who cares? No one has the right to judge your actions.

Catholics are often derided for our devotion to the saints. But have any of you ever read their writings? Here are a few quotes:
"Our hearts are restless until they rest in thee" - St Augustine
"Lord, shine your glorious light into the darkness of my heart" - St. Thomas
"May the all-powerful Lord grant us a restful night and a peaceful death" - Blessed Miguel Pro, S.J.
"O Lord, make me an instrument of thy will" - St. Francis of Assisi
"All the darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of a single candle." - St. Francis of Assisi
"Truth suffers, but never dies." - St. Teresa of Avila
"The entire world in fact cannot enjoy true peace if it is not of one fold and one shepherd. " - Blessed Pius IX
"Tribulation is a gift from God - one that he especially gives His special friends." - St. Thomas More
"To receive the grace of God you must go to the desert and stay awhile." - Bl. Charles de Foucauld

Not too bad. Worthy of respect, even. Comments anyone?
