Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. - 2 Corinthians 7:10

What does it mean to repent? When you or I wrong another person, or we sin against God, do we simply say we are sorry and move on?

The Greek word we use in the New Testament for forgiveness is metanoeō, pronounced-met-an-o-eh'-o, meaning...
.1) to change one’s mind, i.e. to repent
2) to change one’s mind for better, heartily to amend with abhorrence of one’s past sins

The Hebrew word in the Old Testament for the most part is
Teshuvah, meaning to turn back, to retreat, to withdraw from.

Is there anyone you need to seek forgiveness from? Acknowledging our sin is the first step. Humbling ourselves and taking actions to restore is the next step.

Next step? Victory, and the abundant life.

Why is every other question I see directed towards atheists? If they are still a small minority in the U.S. population, then why is it such a popular topic to discuss here? Why not Islam? Hinduism? I don't see many people discussing scientology either. Atheism is one of THE most talked about subjects here in R&S. Why?

In one place, the New Testament confirms that people will go to Heaven by their deeds, and in another place, it says that Jesus, peace be upon him is (allegedly!) the way to Heaven. There are a lot of contradicting verses like these. Christians nowadays believe that if one believes in Jesus, he'll go to Heaven in all ways even if he is a sinner. So Christians are having a new spiritual experience, which was not taught by the Law given to Moses(P).

Abrogating the Whole Law of Moses

The New Testament tells us that Jesus(P) confirms the Law of Moses(P):

Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets; I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth pass away, not one letter, not one stroke of a letter, will pass from the law until all is accomplished. Therefore, whoever breaks one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, will be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but whoever does them and teaches them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I tell you, unless your righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.1

From the above verses, we can infer that Jesus(P) confirms the Shema of the Jews, as he himself had said:

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, is one LORD."2

But suddenly, we read in another passage that, according to Christian interpretion, Jesus(P) is saying that he is (allegedly) a part of God:

"When he had gone out, Jesus said, 'Now the Son of Man has been glorified, and God has been glorified in him. If God has been glorified in him God will also glorify him in himself and will glorify him at once'."3

So there are a lot of contradicting verses, abrogating the law, confirming the law and therefore causing confusion.

Christians today are claiming that Jesus is a part of God, and that if one believes in Jesus(P), then he or she will go to Heaven in all cases even if they are sinners, and this is contradictory to the Law of Moses(P) . So, in a way, Christians are the servants of Jesus (because they claim that Jesus is God), or in other words, they serve Jesus(P) , and not God.

So What Do We Do With Such Cases According to The Law?

According to the Law of Moses(P), such a Prophet (that is, the Jesus of the New Testament) should be killed or crucified. This proves the distortion of the New Testament and the fallacy of the Jesus of the New Testament. The real Jesus(P) was a great Messenger of God and would never proclaim a Message contrary to the teachings of God Almighty!

We read that:

"If prophets or those who divine by dreams appear among you and promise you omens or portents, and the omens or the portents declared by them take place, and they say, "Let us follow other gods" (whom you have not known) "and let us serve them," you must not heed the words of those prophets or those who divine by dreams; for the LORD your God is testing you, to know whether you indeed love the LORD your God with all your heart and soul. The LORD your God you shall follow, him alone you shall fear, his commandments you shall keep, his voice you shall obey, him you shall serve, and to him you shall hold fast. But those prophets or those who divine by dreams shall be put to death for having spoken treason against the LORD your God–who brought you out of the land of Egypt and redeemed you from the house of slavery–to turn you from the way in which the LORD your God commanded you to walk. So you shall purge the evil from your midst."4

This verse clearly states that no Prophet is divine, and any Prophet who claims to be divine is a false one and should be put to death. This is not the case with the true picture of Jesus(P), the truth about Jesus(P) is totally different as he was a great and true Messenger of All⨮

Yes, I know other religions have alot in common with the one my question generally pertain to. However, where I actually live, we don't have Vishnu on the money.

I'm sure Sanjay the atheist in Calcutta can question Hinduism w/o my input, right?

So why would I NOT single out the Abrahamic monotheism lineage considering it's the only one that really impacts my life????

i believe in an afterlife, God, Jesus, and the Bible. but i also believe in what Buddha said even though he parallels to jesus. i think after reading the Bible jesus was a teacher of zen as well. i believe it is ok for people to be gay even though im not. i think it is ok to have seperate beliefs, that won't make you go to hell. i tink the main basis for my faith and thoughts are open mindness, open heart, do not judge, and just do what makes you happy. i think "curse words" are only actually curse words in what context you use them. i believe church is in yourself, which is why God refers to your body as you temple. i think it is more meaningful when you pray by yourself without being in front of everybody, which jesus says that he perfers when he talks about hypocracy. i hate hypocracy and with all my experiences that is what christianity ends up being about that . which for people to call themselves christians they need to follow all of Gods sayings just not what suits them.

Listen, I tell you a mystery: We will not all sleep, but we will all be changed in a flash, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, the dead will be raised imperishable, and we will be changed. For the perishable must clothe itself with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality. When the perishable has been clothed with the imperishable, and the mortal with immortality, then the saying that is written will come true: "Death has been swallowed up in victory."
"Where, O death, is your victory?
Where, O death, is your sting?"
The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law.
But thanks be to God!
He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

The LAST trumpet, that is at the END of the tribulation
