By very definition, to be all-knowing removes the need for hope and faith....except as being the Source of both.

When you know everything you don't need faith or hope. "Faith" the sbstance of things hoped for & the evidance of things yet not seen. Mr. dbitz the choice is given to us by God He gives us the oppurtunity to be to be saved from eternal damnation & that is where freedom of choice comes in [free will]! A fool has said in his heart there is no God. And God smiles & says yea right!!!

Arminian theology holds that "it's a mystery" because God must be all-knowing and we must have free will. However, if it's a fuzzy plan, then God must have hope that we will choose him since he can do nothing about our decision except perhaps to lead us to that decision wherein we hold the authority to decide our own eternity.

However, He takes back his authority in judgment after humbling himself while we live. This makes it a role reversal for both God and man, dramatically switching at our deaths. What was a loving offer a few minutes ago, now is a ticket to heaven or a sentencing to hell. Arminianism looks good on paper, but bringing it to its logical conclusion is, well, illogical.

Faith and hope are virtues by which we believe in things we cannot see and we look to the fulfillment of things yet unknown. These virtues apply only to man. God knows all and sees all; there is no need for Him to have faith and hope.

Our faith and hope, incidentally, are rooted in Him.

Among other things, "Love is gentle, Love is kind", etc, etc. ... "And now abides faith, hope and Love, but the greatest of these is Love."

God IS Love.

God doesn't NEED hope, "We hope for what we do not see, but if we see it, it is no longer hope." God knows all and sees all.

Faith? Do you have faith in your arm to turn the lights on when it is dark? God knows Himself and doesn't NEED faith, because God IS faithful.

BUT, God GIVES of Himself to those who call upon Him, and He gives us these things, of which are included faith, hope and love. God can not give what He is not. He does not HAVE these things, He IS these things.

I hope I have not confused the issue.

If God is all knowing, how could he be sane - knowing for thousands of years that he would be condemning billions of people; especially when he could have allowed free will without it being about good and evil.
