I believe I heard that on the discovery or history channel as well. People were not big on bathing then, which is, unfortunately, the reason for so many horrible plagues. I cannot imagine the odor these people had. Very poor hygiene in the 1500s.

I've seen these before, but didn't verify them, so I haven't used them for anything. But its highly plausible. Because they didn't bathe, which is why the plague killed people off so fast because of the unsanitary health conditions. Think of all the other wonderful diseases they had.
