I love the friendliness of the people, the natural beauty of the landscape, the fact that SC preserves greenspace, I can go to the ocean or go to the mountains, enjoy natural waterfalls, I enjoy 4 seasons and mild winters, I absolutely love it here and am grateful that I have chosen this place to live. I live in a city that is so rich historically that sometimes I am awestruck. How about you?

I live in So Cal about 90 miles south of LA (where I grew up). The town I live in has more horses than people. Sometimes I think about leaving when I retire, but I honestly don't know where I would go. Most of my kids are here, I'm near a big city so I can go to concerts, museums, etc. I have the beach, and the mountains and the desert aren't far away. It's hotter than h#!! today, but it will cool off - in November.

I have lived in Oregon, Washington, California, Idaho, North Carolina, Virginia, Alaska--my choice is Idaho. There is such a small crime rate, people care about people, no one sticks their head in the sand if there is an emergency. We have a green belt that streaches for miles and miles -- you can drive a ways out of town in the winter and see all the deer and elk and bears. There are Eagles and clear pristeen creeks and rivers to fish and play in--it is a wonderful state. We have ski resorts just 17 miles from town--high mountains--pine trees galore, deserts, gold panning, ghost towns, beautiful parks one of the best in the West. No high humidity either, high heat oh yeah but not as invasive as it always cools off at night.

Well, we don't live in the same state, but you've given a lot of the reasons I love Virginia: mild winters, lots of rivers, the Chesapeake Bay, the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Appalachians, too, the Shenandoah Valley, and the rich history (though when I was a kid I thought history was crammed down our throats).

It's nice to drive through the state's southern counties and see cotton, soybeans, corn and tobacco crops flourishing.

I live in Southern Nevada. About fifteen minutes east of the Strip, ten minutes by freeway to our minor league ball park, thirty minutes from Lake Mead and forty five minutes from the ski lifts at Mount Charleston. I'm also less than fifteen minutes from the airport. So, in terms of distance from major attractions and the "get away portal" I'm ideally located.
Having grown up in a cold water tenement in Brooklyn, New York I now live in a 3-bedroom home with a formal dining room, three fireplaces, a family room which is paneled and carpeted with a built-in wet bar. There's a covered patio with a built in bar, distressed brick double barbecue, swimming pool and spa.
The weather is ideal, even given the routine 100-plus temperatures of the summer. I have 347 days of sunshine a year on average.
BTW, the name of the township I live in is Paradise!

LOVE California. Been here 41 years since I married. We've worked here and lived here and raised a son here. We love the greenspace in California. We are located in upstate where in a couple hours, you can be to Yosemite or Mendocino or San Fancisco or the Napa Valley wine country. It's gorgeous and a lot of fun to live here. We have hot summers and wet winters here in the valley. We are challenged wtih keeping our levee systems healthy.
We are recently retired and could choose wherever we might want. We love our home, our community, our State and our Governator.

I love the south. The moderate temps, the sunshine, the flora and fauna. I live close enough to get to the mountains and mom in a few hours. I have the entertainment of a big city near enough and the quiet of the country side. My adult children that live west and north return often and they give me somewhere to visit and experience different climates and cultures. The fresh foods at reasonable prices may it fairly economical also. Seafood and vegatables, and fruits.

If you've ever been to Tennessee, you know what I'm talking about...the rolling hills and mountains, the FOOD, the small-town feeling everywhere you go, NASHVILLE--the music capitol, Elvis--the king (although he wasn't born here)...I was born and raised here and I guess I'll die here. Most people from a small town say they hate the fact that everyone knows everyone else. I love that about where I live. No matter where you go, someone has a smile and a kind word for you. Is it like that in the other southern states? I dunno, I'm staying in TN lol

I live in Dixie.
Long growing season for gardening.
Short winters.
Small town airports in every town
so we can go to the big cities or resort areas easily.
Junior colleges in the area. Recreation of all kind,
good golf courses, college football within a few hrs.
drive. Various cultural events within a few hrs. drive.
This area is dripping with history.
And my grown children all live only a few miles from me.
