According to the theological scholar Ima Lyre, there is a Law of Conservation of Faith. According to this law, there are only a certain number of souls who can simultaneously have faith. Atheists have all read the studies proving this, and they know that they are not among the lucky few that have faith.

The reason atheists try to convince us is because in order for them to accept God and have faith they need somebody else to lose their faith. The atheist can then find this lost faith and use it to get to heaven. They're stealing our faith!

The reason atheists try to make good fundamentalists lose their faith is because atheists want that faith for themselves. They know they can't just magically "have faith," so they steal it from other people.

This proves that atheists believe in God and are just trying to trick us into losing our faith so they can have it. Is this why so many atheists come to this board to convert people?

SCENARIO --

A same-sex couple in a community has been cohabitating in a community for 20 years. Then, one day, there no longer is any law prohibiting same-sex marriage, so they get legally married.

QUESTION --

Presumably, all those so-called "defense of marriage acts" up until then were for the purpose of defending so-called "traditional" (i.e., opposite-sex) marriage against SOMETHING. So tell me this: Just HOW will the marriage of ANY opposite-sex married couple in that community be harmed in ANY way by that formerly-cohabitating gay couple's having gotten legally married?

(I have yet to find ANY anti-gay-rights bigot who has been able to answer that.)

Does anyone know of any online stuff that can help you learn Spanish. I have never studied Spanish before but want to learn some. I would help if it was free. If not does anyone have any suggestions on good books or CD packs to help. Thanks

At Chichen Itza, Yucatan, there's a sinkhole lake with an alter beside it. Several large blood gutter drains at the bottom of the alter provide an estimate of how much blood was anticipated to be spilled there.

Mayan priests stood on that alter, ripped the hearts out of living victims, tossed the carcasses into the lake, and reached for another victim.

Probably as many Mayans were killed there as the Inquisition killed in Europe.

But contrary to popular belief, experts now agree when the Mayan calendar ends, all the people killed at that alter will be Raptured.

The Christian thing is a misunderstanding.

If you can find a Mayan priest you can probably still join the Rapture.

I choose to believe. You choose not to believe. I don't bother you. Why do you come here and try to straighten us out? What difference does it make to you what we Choose to believe in? How would it make your life better if you were to turn a Christian away from God?

Just in case if you have not heard that President Faust passed away this morning. Here is a link about it just in case you want to look at it http://kutv.com/topstories/local_story_222081347.html
So my prayers and thoughts are with the President Faust, his family and the first presidency and others at this time.

I was wondering who you think the next second counselor would be, and it will be interesting to find out who it will be.

"And call no man your father on earth, for you have one Father, who is in heaven."

I do not know about all of Christianity, but I do know Catholics say "father" to their priest...

Is this not a complete contradiction to what happens in churches across the globe? If the Bible is the word, why not follow it completely? Or does Jesus mean this in a symbolic sense (Call no man your GOD on Earth, for you have one GOD...)? I am not trying to disprove Christianty here, just wondering how Christians feel about this.

My co-worker is having a Backyard BBQ to celebrate her and her husband's 1st anniversary. Should I bring anything like a gift or card or something else? It's going to be very casual with her family and friends.

How does one know which Bible to read? Why have churches dropped certain gospels out of the Bible? Doesn't content get kind of lost through translation...where as the change of one small word gives a whole new meaning to a statement? So how does one know that what the bible says is actually truly what it said to begin with. When you cange words such as we, they, and I a sentence changes immensely.
Which WORD id THE WORD of GOD and why would anyone take away from it?
How do you feel about servitude in the Bible? Wouldn't that be slaves in todays terminology? (please forgive the spelling)

Now, imagine that you could remove these ten from the media attention. With what ten would you replace them?

Can we go for twenty? Let's remove 20 pathetic, decadent, parasitic celebrities from our imaginary media world, and nominate 20 replacements who have actually DONE something substantial for society, for the world.

For example, delete Paris Hilton and that friend of hers, the Other Drunk Blonde Driver. Now, let's replace those two with, say, somebody who has offered to take the place of a prisoner or rebel leader in Darfur so he can get medical treatment. Or someone who does work with the homeless. Or someone in animal rescue.

What do you say?

Didn't it just always make no sense?

I remember when I was young, and a Christian, the story of Noah was especially hard to swallow.

For over 40 years I was able to believe Jesus was the "son" of God and also see the bible as ONLY metaphors and parables.

Would you support a candidate whose wife, (24 years younger than him), dresses like one? (Fred Thompson, Republican)

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/08/fashion/08JERI.html?ex=1186891200&en=5b86fc86ff395b76&ei=5070

I know I already asked the question...but, thought I would rephrase it. It seems conservative, religious America is always concerned about the message being sent today to kids via the celebrities and how they dress...Paris, Lindsay, Britney, Madonna, the Bratz dolls even, etc...

Many conservatives preach that celebrities should be a role model and they don't like the fact that their children imitate the dress of these celebrities.

So, what if the first lady dresses like a Bratz doll? What message does that send to your children?

There seems to be a double standard when it is the liberals whose wardrobe you judge...but, when a Republican's wife dresses like a (*&^ it's o.k.?
