Because I've finally accepted and come to terms with the fact that, by nature, I am one lazy m****r f****r!

Here's the challenge:

1. Go to the Department of Education website listed below and read about all the various kinds of *protected* religious expression in public schools in the US.

2. Make notes on what is protected religious expression - for students, for instructors and other school employees.

3. Next time someone expresses a belief that prayer (bible study, etc.) is not allowed in public schools, correct them with the *facts* of the matter. Be a truth-teller. Don't spread lies or allow them to be spread when you know the truth.

ARE YOU WILLING to take the challenge?

In a recent question, "laotzu4272" said outright what I believe a lot of people think: (quote) "...without America the world would be a better place." How pathetic. Here are a few truths:
1) America was the main power that defeated Nazi Germany
2) America wrote a constitution with a bill of rights at a time when the world was ruled by Czars, Kings, and Emporers
3) Americans give more to charities AROUND THE WORLD than all other peoples combined

If you want to meet people who like America, try a Starbucks in Beijing, Cellphones allow fishermen in poor countries to check the market price for their catch. It’s U.S. military power that helps keep order in the world. Overwhelming U.S. might is what keeps the oil flowing. Oil is the lifeblood of every nation’s economy, and without it they’d collapse. America has waded into trouble spots—Bosnia, Kosovo, Haiti, Somalia—where others fear to tread; not because it had anything to gain, but because it wanted to restore order and get out.

Isn't it a cop out for a presidential candidate to say the states should be the ones to determine whether or not to recognize gay marriages? If we allow states to discriminate where does it end? Do these same candidates believe states should be allowed to decide whether or not they wish to recognize voting rights for some racial groups, or inter-racial marriages?

Should not all rights be protected regardless of where a citizent lives?

Watching TV commentaries on Kate, ( Prince Henry's ex) a spokesman for Buckingham Palace stated that apart from the fact she is a commoner, her mother says things like; "i'm going to the toilet".

And, if the Queen says no, do you think that if Henry goes back to Kate, this will end up in another Diana tradgety?

Last night my love cooked while I went for wine. We sat down with the two boys and talked and laughed all through the dinner. Afterward she and I retired to the living room while our two sons played happily.

We Talked about the little things that made up our day, sharing some nice Australian wine and an occasional kiss. I remember the kisses. I can still taste them on my lips.

Once everyone was in bed, I sat up late doodling in my sketch book, after deciding that I wasn't in the mood for a whole chapter of reading. The stars wheeled overhead. Later the Moon came out to play with them amongst the clouds. At some point I slipped off to a night rich with dreams.

I have seen many Christians ask, "How do you atheist find meaning in life?", or "Without God, what is the purpose in life?".

My Question is simple. Do you really think that someone can not find a meaningful life, filled with purpose, without God?

Does this concept extend only to Christianity?

Because if you want religion taught in public schools, then you have to accommodate all the Muslim, Jewish, Pagan, Wiccan, Hindu, Buddhist, etc. students who might be attending the school.

So now, you would need a teacher for each class, raising costs of running the schools, which raises taxes for the community.

So is it REALLY such a good idea to push for religion to be taught in public schools?

In the words of good george carlin: "Religion has convinced people that there's an invisible man...living in the sky. Who watches everything you do every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a list of ten specific things he doesn't want you to do. And if you do any of these things, he will send you to a special place, of burning and fire and smoke and torture and anguish for you to live forever, and suffer, and burn, and scream, until the end of time. But he loves you. He loves you. He loves you and he needs money..." Why would you believe in that, while you can wonder about the wonders of life, of nature, of mother earth and not having to pay a dime for it ? The sun raises free, rain falls free and for everyone, no matter what invisible man you believe in...

Christians say you need to have faith, yet in the Bible Moses parts the Red Sea. Wouldn't that take away faith?

Wouldn't that demonstrate that there actually was a God since that is impossible? Why do the people who saw that back then get to see miracles in person, yet people now never see anything that is undeniable in present times?

People say miracles do happen now, but they are always ambiguous. A child escaping from a burning building is not scientifically impossible, for example.

The reason why I asked both Christians and atheists this is because I wanted to see if this made sense to anyone that wasn't a Christian. Just because you don't believe in something doesn't mean you don't understand the logic.

in my humble opinion ther are really only two types of people, those who belive and those who do not,let me finish befor you get on your rant!OK those fence straddlers, those who want proof but really hope deep down inside that there is a god, so that when they die their not just worm food. They fall in the beliving group cause they hold out hope for a god, the beliver.Loves God etc......then the athiest, smug assured that there is no sky God yet if you ask them a simple question like where did all this come from? And with a stern brow and unwaivering certainty. They reply random chance,as for the beliver we"ll setting aside personal experience, is it really so bad that a group of people want to belive in this absoloute being of love? Who knows, so here we are both groups at each others throats desperate to be right .Hey no one likes to be wrong, after all we are only human, so my question is this , if you were crossing a field and seen a lion, would you trust that God would keep the
