I see many could be Christians angry at those who tell them their living in sin. Then they say things like "The Bible says your supposed to love me".Are we supposed to tolerate evil before we can say that we have the love of Christ in us?

if you truely love someone, then you will reprove them, However, we must be careful of our approach to each situation and must seek for God's guidance. The Biblie staes in Galatians 6:1 that, "Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted."

The better we know our own hearts and ways, the less shall we despise others, and the more be disposed to help them under infirmities and afflictions. How light soever men's sins seem to them when committed, yet they will be found a heavy burden, when they come to reckon with God about them. No man can pay a ransom for his brother; and sin is a burden to the soul. It is a spiritual burden;and the less a man feels it to be such, the more cause has he to suspect himself. Most men are dead in their sins, and therefore have no sight or sense of the spiritual burden of sin. Feeling the weight and burden of our sins, we must seek to be eased thereof by the Saviour, and be warned against every sin. (Ga 6:6-11)

Here is what the Bible says about correction;

Proverbs 3:12For whom the LORD loveth he correcteth; even as a father the son in whom he delighteth.

Psalm 39:11When thou with rebukes dost correct man for iniquity, thou makest his beauty to consume away like a moth: surely every man is vanity. Selah.

Proverbs 29:17Correct thy son, and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.

Jeremiah 10:24O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.

Job 5:17Behold, happy is the man whom God correcteth: therefore despise not thou the chastening of the Almighty:

God bless you

What is love? 1 cor. 13

Love does not want to see a person living a life that will eventually get them into trouble.

The bible also says, those who are Friends with the worldly' are a enemy toward God. 1 john

No we are not suppose to tolerate evil but we are suppose to meet a person where they are at and give them time to change. Remember our time is not Gods timing and we must be so careful not to fall into sin while we are helping others out of sin.

Hope this helps!!
make sure you stay prayed up and allow the Holy Spirit to lead you. We do not fight against flesh and blood but against evil spirits in high places.

Reprove. Does a parent that doesn't teach their child right or wrong, love them? Somehow this backwards society started to believe that no one is allowed to correct anyone all in the name of 'tolerance'.

God/Christ is pure holiness and has absolutely no tolerance for evil. We are to be Christ like, therefore we are to not tolerate evil as well.

You might be able to do a little both to equil the love that the Lord would like you to give. Tolerate in the way in which it won't get to you and influence you in your actions. But, reprove it in the way of teaching others.

It's almost like the misunderstanding of forgiveness. The Lord forgives us, but he doesn't forget it. We take it as "forgive without punishment" when in fact, the more we sin, the more sorrows happen.

So, i guess what i'm saying is, try and tolerate, but don't forget.

Hope this made sense...

God bless.

To have Love, is NOT to tolerate evil...however whenever anyone is confronted about their sinfulness..MOST ppl will get "agressive". To Love someone is to tell them about the "direction" they are headed & PRAY they will receive the information with grace, and hope they do something about it.
We cannot "force" ppl to listen, or to "change" their ways, that has always been up to the individual. Christ gives us the ability to love the sinner & hate the sin...but we cannot change what they decide to become, or their ultimate destination.
Continue on sharing the TRUTH in Love!

The problem is that what most Christians consider "evil" isn't really evil at all. That is why the rest of the world thinks you are intolerant.

Further, you don't have to tell people that you think they are evil if they are not bothering you.

Why is it your business who a gay person loves? And what gives you the right to tell that person that their love is evil? How would you feel if I said your love for your wife (if you have one) is evil? You'd be pretty POed! You would think I was hateful.

Rather than letting some book with laws written during the Bronze Age be your moral guide, why don't you try asking yourself honestly, who is this other person hurting? Then make a decision about the evilness of their actions.

Jesus was our example in regards to this. The only people He publicly reproved were the religious hypocrites of His day. He was very accepting of the common sinner and offered them healing and forgiveness.

1Co 13:4 Charity has patience, is kind; charity is not envious, is not vain, is not puffed up; does not behave indecently, does not seek her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil. Charity does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices in the truth, quietly covers all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Charity never fails.

Some versions say love instead of charity, so I used it. I would have to say reprove, then leave the rest up to the Holy Spirit. Love the sinner, hate the sin.

When people are mean to me I do 1 of 2 things.I either give them love in return and they get so confused they don't know if they are coming or going.or I return the same comment on them that they used on me.It shows them how they look and that confuses them also.It all depends on the situation and how the Holy Spirit is working on them at that particular second

Definitly reprove....Open rebuke is better than hidden love.
Darkness (sin) has to be conquered by light.
Walk in the light as He is in the light so that you may have fellowship with one another and the blood of CHrist cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
However, reproof includes restoring a person of faith to their reconciliation in Christ.
To me that is love
If you say you love God then do it by lovin g your brother....
restore him
