No they were never the same God but enough people have died for most to no longer know it.

The Gnostics who were plentiful until 1307 and the start of the first inquisition were convinced that the Father of Christ was the supreme source of all universes. This source created many powerful beings called Eaons one Eaon named Sofia wanted to see the Source of Creation but this violated a rule that the created could not see the creator so Sophia was thrown into darkness. In isolation she began to create companions earth, water, air, fire, matter, and soul but when she created soul something went wrong. She had been creating without the creator a new thing was made called the Demiurge, which is the God of the Old Testament. The Demiurge could no more see Sophia than Sophia could see the Father. Thinking itself alone it became egotistical and created this universe from light, which we call the big bang. Sophia was ensnared in the relative darkness of this universe and the Father sent Christ to awaken Sophia. Sophia is made manifest in life scattered throughout the universe. When we awaken we can unite to become the Bride of Christ.

it somewhat is an outstanding question and that i visit do my ultimate to proportion a number of my recommendations in the barriers of this communicate board. Jesus reported that any one who "observed Me has seen the father". There are different passages the place it states Jesus is the "right representation of the father". So did God get "stored" between Malachi and Matthew? If Jesus confirmed mercy to the prostitutes and tax-creditors (like the lads at Enron who stole money from human beings) then is Father not a merciful father additionally? while we see the old testomony we now and lower back overlook the passages that exhibit mercy...there are various passages in the Psalms that talk the long suffering endurance of God...there are different passages the place God condemns the ruling elite in Israel (nevertheless old testomony) because of the fact the undesirable are ravenous and homeless b/c of the elite's greed. God's grief at sin because of the fact it destroys what He loves is an identical in the old testomony as in the recent testomony. Jesus, while therapeutic a guy with a concern arm, regarded on the pharisees with anger b/c He observed that they've been so problematical of their hearts they could fairly circulate away the guy suffering then have him healed on the Sabbath. lower back we see the affection of God in Christ for those suffering the two bodily or emotionally. He reported I come for the sinners not for the righteous. He used the analogy of a doctor not coming to heal people who're wholesome however the surgeon will come and heal the only that is ill. it is the variety of huge subject count for communicate. desire this has been particularly helpful...and that i could inspire you to have this verbal substitute with human beings around you..or locate somebody you who you believe to communicate this with.

Yes, still the same... God's dealings however change as time pass by.. During the time of Adam to Abraham, God deals with mankind as a whole. From the time of Abraham to Christ, until Acts 28, God deals with the people of Israel, with a few Gentiles grafted in if, and only if they recognize Israel as their channel of blessing to God. Since Acts 28 up to present, called the dispensation of Grace. God deals with everybody, irregardless of race. The channel of blessing is not anymore with the Jews. God treat both Gentiles and Jews as equals. Channel of blessing is on His Words, Scriptures. On the future, God will still restore Israel as a nation and remembers His promise to Abraham. (Gen 17:4)

The God of Abraham, the God of Moses, the God of the Israelites, and the God of the followers of Jesus is the same God. There is no difference between the two. The Book of Hebrews teaches us this.

Actually God is not the same through the Old Testament.
If you pay attention to the description of what God does and how he acts you see very different creatures. In Genesis God was humanlike and went around poking under bushes and calling out to find Adam and Eve. Later God lives on mountains, appears in burning bushes, has high tea with Satan and many other changes happen to God.
God changes with every different story teller in the bible to suit the story being told.

And yes, I expect the Christers to report this answer as abuse too.

The Old Testament was God the Father dealing with mankind under the Law of Moses.

The New Testament is God the Father dealing with mankind under the Grace of Jesus Christ. The Wrath of God the Father is being stored up in Vials until the Day of Judgement.

Is your worldly father the same as he was when you were five years old?

You've changed, you've grown, and now you see him in a different light.

Writers of the Old and New Testament (think of them more as the First and Second Testaments,) wrote about their relationship with God over the course of thousands of years, so of course their idea of who God is changes, just as your idea of who your own father is, changes over time.

Jeremiah 31:31-34 says something, that Jesus said 500 years later . . . that's an example of God remaining constant, while human relationships with him change.

Godspeed.
