Just Curious, because people who take the time to study it eventually realize that a lot of things are misunderstood and often times stereotyped. As is the same with almost every religion. Have any of you taken a course in Islam (In college) etc..

I took Christianity and Hinduism in college and was relieved of a lot of the misunderstandings I had... Have you ever tried to study Islam to get a better perspective of it?

I know that cussing is a sin. Is it a sin to watch shows that have cussing in it. What if it's just minor cussing. I watch that 70s show and Red is always calling people a dumb***. This show is rated TV14 and I'm 15. As long as I watch shows that are appropriate for my age do you think God would find that acceptable. I'm not going to copy the cuss words just watch shows that have them.

quoteing the new testement that the early church put together.

Please prove that there were other Christians before the reformation, if so where were they. The was only one church prior to the reformation.

Please tell me why Martin Luther (a crazy Hitler figure) took books and verses out of the original bible (including the Old Testement books of Daniel and Ester) that the early christians compiled.

You use a book that is incomplete, it isint the same one the early christians used or had after 400ad, there are parts missing.

Would you be willing to explore your faith in more detail to really understand it. You can say that Mary, Puratory, Confession are not in your bible but they are, the verses are all there.

You would say I take them out of context but how can you have them in context when you dont have the original bible that early believers have, or that the church to 1520 had.

So wouldnt you say that protestant have to be out of contect, they have half a bible

"Let every soul be in subjugation to the superior authorities for there is no authority except by God, the existing authorities stand placed in their relative postions by God. Therefore he who opposes the authority has taken a stand against the arrangement of God; those who have taken a stand against it will receive judgement to themselves" - Romans 13:1, 2

"For that is why you are also paying taxes; for they are God's public servants constanly serving this very purpose. Render to all their dues, to him who calls for the tax, the tax, to him who calls for the tribute, the tribute; to him who calls for fear, such fear, to him who calls for honor, such honor." - Romans 13:6,7

How can you say the Bible is the word of God and then mock those he has seen fit to place in power?

I know that in reality you can get divorced in the evangelical church for any reason you like. It might be discourages per se but in reality, you get divorced, repent, remarry and no one cares as long as you tithe.

The official position is the only way to get divorced and remarry is for the other person to have committed adultery.

Is that the same as the Catholic Chruch as far as I understand in the Catholic Church you can get divorced but there is no way ever (even if the other person commits adultery) that you can remarry while they are alive.

Is that correct.

Matt 23:27-28
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

23:30-31
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. KJV

23:33
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

23:35
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. KJV

My family is VERY Christian. My mom's side is Southern Baptist and my dad's side is Catholic.
However I have an interest in a lot of different religions and am starting to question Christianity. It makes me feel HORRIBLE. Very, very, very, VERY bad but I cannot help it much...
And it's the things that I find my self more interested in than Christianity that make me feel this way. I'm much more curious about something on the opposite side of the spectrum- Satanism, Wicca and the like. It’s not that I want to be apart of these religions, but I find them more interesting and “attractive” for a lack of words.
Then there is a side of me that doubts any truth in religion, though this side is very small.

What should I do? My family may literally disown and forget about me if I even mention these newfound interest.

(I will prepare to be burned to the stake by some of you)

When I try to read the Book of Mormon, as well as the Bible, I often have to re-read verses and words because I wasn't alive when King James was alive and I don't really know their language...so some words line inasmuch and others, I often get caught up on...

So, should we take that word and space it out? and change ye to you, and thy to my, and stuff like that? To make it easier to read? I mean, the bible has been done like that...taking out of the KJV words and putting in modern day equivelancies...right?

Positive Actions and Love carry has no boundries. But at the same time we are social creatures so we need to be part of a group too. The main purpose of all the religions was to create unity but lack of tolerance and compassion seems to be prevailent now. So how can we eleviate our thinking and rise above the religious bounds that make us narrow-minded and full of ego making us believe we are the Chosen Ones. What are the steps that you can suggest to clear our minds and see the human being, a part of ourself in all?

God doesn't exist. Someone asked me this question because I am an atheist. In all honesty, I do believe that without God, life is pointless. But let me put it this way for you Christians. Even if it's pointless, I'm having a damn good time living it.

It sorta involves spirituality anyway, because it deals with ethics, morals, karma, and right and wrong. Here goes.

My friends husband just passed 3 days ago, and I hate to say it, but I suspect foul play. His death has been labeled a job related accident, but peep these tidbits:

*One month ago, she took a million dollar insurance policy on him.
*She just made him switch his other benefits all to her, instead of her and his mother. This was a few weeks ago too.
*He just came into a sizeable sum of cash that they both were anticipating a week ago.
*She just took over a business from another person last week.
*He has been cheating on her for many years. The last time was just less than 6 months ago. She joked about doing something to him then.

Anyway, she was at work when this occurred, but the accident involved him not being alert around heavy equippment. She did drive him to work that day as well. I feel bad for even thinking this, but what do you all think? Coincidence?
