they think they have an all-powerful, all-knowing and omni-present diety on their side. But do they?

No, all they have is faith, hope, and usually a vague understanding of their bible, which most athiests happen to know better than the believers do.

It's such a stupid debate. Nobody is going to change anyone else's mind. I don't know why people bother. Oh and there is no right answer when it comes to beliefs, because the answer with beliefs rests with the individual. I wish people could accept that science and religion are two different things and leave it at that. Oh, and I am a Unitarian so I can piss off both Christian's and Atheists if I wanted to, but why bother.

I think they would have more of an edge if they realized their religion is much more complex than it appears. Many Christians are quick to dismiss any logical inquiries people have about them or their beliefs. Some are too quick to just use the faith angle. Which is not a bad or incorrect thing, but if they were to study things more closely, they could find some surprisingly logical arguments that would help give them some credibility to non believers. Things aren't as simple as they appear, especially something like religion, and the believers are just as unaware of this as non believers.

lol, easy... watch this...

I guess their "all-powerful, all-knowing and omni-present diety" likes to watch all of our soldiers die in Iraq.

how can someone believe in god with all the hate in this world?? would i want to believe in a god that allows good men to die for nothing??

Nope. I've never seen a believer successfully defend their beliefs against an atheist and I've seen quite a few religious debates.

Well, supposedly he spoke to the men who fabricated the bible so you would think he would whisper in the ears of believers. If he did though, there would be no debate about gay marriage and evolution.

I was freaked out cuz your profile is gone. What happened?

It's the omni-present, omniscient, omnipotent paradox.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof. Sadly, the believers don't have anything at all, not even the smallest scrap of physical evidence that there big invisible man in the sky exists..

Debates don't mean much. You know something funny? I wouldn't say I "debated" my father about God, but we talked about it alot. He always laughed at what I believed, about the bible and everything. I never won one single discussion, never felt like I "gained any ground" at all. So I started praying for him. *smile*...brought out the big guns, prayer.

After ten years of praying, and four days before my Dad passed away, my father said he wanted to go to heaven...he knew he was about to die. He called on the name of Jesus and was saved.

Debates amount to nothing. The truth is, and no amount of arguing over it will change anything. Thank you for reminding me that prayer is more powerful than anything else in this world.

hey don't down the christian mythology believers, if it weren't for them who would believe in an adulterous murdering barbaric mythological god? we should be glad we still have a few tie-overs from early human development that refuse to evolve intellectually, we can study their habits and rituals. unfortunately tho their laws, propaganda and wars impact our everyday existence.

Santa is returning soon, are you prepared?!?!
