I no all catholics feel different. Even my baptist church didn't think all christian were going to hell. But they are big on jesus. Jesus was everything. But then again they are the reason i become athest for a while to. I really do want to become catholic. Got to be a member of something. How do catholics feel about young people worshipeing their parents no matter how abusive they are. This is another reason I become atheast.

because all the believers tell me "change your life, believe in jesus, go to church, or you will die in sin and then you´re going to hell
the reason?: I´m atheist and a free thinker

why do I have to be tortured, suffer painful punishments after my death only because I dont believe in jesus??

A couple people commented that Christians insist everyone else's gods are false because "the Bible says so." So I am curious as to what specific verses say that.

I just did a search for "false" over on bible.com and couldn't find a single reference to false gods. Several false prophet references, a few false messiah references, and dozens and dozens of false witness references, but not a single verse about false gods. (which doesn't mean they aren't there...just that I couldn't find them in my relatively simple approach.)

Commands not to worship other gods DO NOT COUNT. "Not to be worshipped" and "do not exist" are entirely different claims.

I always thought He would come before the year 2000. I wanted Him to come but I wanted to get married and have a baby first because I was afraid I couldn't in heaven. I remember right before 2000 we had to get ready for "disaster mode" at work because we were afraid all the machinery would stop. People went to church that hadn't been in years. The next day when nothing happened everybody partied.

So i bought my computer chair for $1900, and this brother came over, sat on it and broke it. He didnt even had the decency to tell me about it and when i found out he told me to crazy glue it up and didnt even apologise. Now i am tempted to give him a pice of my mind but my better judgement and the Christian in me is telling me to be calm. This money took a lot of sacrifices people and i am really hurt. To further add to my injury, some of my friends were here and they found it to be funny. I dont, in fact i am so upset about it. I grew up christian and always prayed "in the name of the father, son and holy spirit.." but to be honest, I didnt know christians believe that God,Jesus and the holy spirit are one.

There were some watch tower people(they dont call themselves christians btw) that came to my house once (thats when I found out) and they said they believe the father, son, and holy spirit are separate.

what are your beliefs?about the trinity and having faith in general?

Whatever the case, am currently questioning(but not bashing!) my belief in the whole christianity thing(I feel like there is a higher power though). How about just being a good person.

I prayed kneeling by my bed with my eyes shut and my hands folded...out loud....with my mother nearby. I prayed for all my family, pets, school...and whatever was happening at the time.

Now I pray silently after I'm in bed, eyes shut...try not to fall asleep before I'm done....for all my family, friends, whatever's happening at the time....and for Jesus to come soon.

alot people say that dec.21 2012 is a hoax(and it probably is) and that in the bible it says that in the end time we will not know the hour or the second not even the angels or jesus himself know when he comes but the father....well if you look at it from a literal standpoint...it still doesn't ruled out that he won't appear on that day because the hour nor the sec was predicted just the day and the year....
what do you think???....I don't really believe or want to but the mayans were pretty accurate but at the same time they never stated that it would end it's just based on assumption.....
I just heard about this yesterday I know I'm kinda late and I'm freaking out and trying to put reason into the equation...help.
