I've been divorced for 6 yrs. Raising a child alone, finishing my 2nd college degree, public service and work are hell and allowed little time for more than the shameful booty call. Now that I have completed the degree and lightened my other obligations I find the worst thing is not having that special someone to talk to. Friends and family are not the same... And nsa sex used to be fun but it just got old or maybe I did who knows

Not having someone to share your life with. I divorced my ex after 38 years of marriage. There were some good memories & the best were having three wonderful sons. (one is deceased) It takes a real adjustment in your lifestlye being on your own for the first time in a very long time. The scary part was getting back into the dating world once again. Yikes! I found a great guy & I'm blessed to have him in my life. My family likes him too. :)

I've been divorced for 12 years. I still very much appreciate the solitude and the idea that I don't have to explain anything to anyone about my private life (not that I really do much anyway).

I think the worst thing about divorce is that if there are children the grandparents lose the grandchildren. This of course is if you are the paternal grandparents.

I've been thru all 3 of the phases you mention and I am just fine being alone. I have wonderful friends, children and grandchildren and that's all I need. The worst part evades me.

Never being held or cuddled. We forget all about the human touch. I guess that's why so many of us keep pets. They love us unconditionally. They are our family when we are far from loved ones.

I miss being able to have someone to share decisions with and the cuddling and hugging...I guess the feelings of comfort and security it brings.
