alot people say that dec.21 2012 is a hoax(and it probably is) and that in the bible it says that in the end time we will not know the hour or the second not even the angels or jesus himself know when he comes but the father....well if you look at it from a literal standpoint...it still doesn't ruled out that he won't appear on that day because the hour nor the sec was predicted just the day and the year....
what do you think???....I don't really believe or want to but the mayans were pretty accurate but at the same time they never stated that it would end it's just based on assumption.....
I just heard about this yesterday I know I'm kinda late and I'm freaking out and trying to put reason into the equation...help.

The whole 2012 thing is a Mayan prediction and has nothing to do with anything written in the Bible.

2012 is the time when the Mayan long count calender resets it self. The date is taken from the stelae at Palenque. what people neglect is that the same stelae go on to describe celebrating the next long count end in another approx 5000 years. the Maya saw time a cyclical.

it also has has nothing to do with the bible.

nicchick,

The worldwide flood that destroyed all life on earth except for Noah, his family, and the animals in the ark occurred in 4990 B.C. In 2 Peter 3 God refers back to this flood and then transitions to the destruction of the universe by fire. In verse 8 God says, "But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day." This is interesting because God told Noah to go into the ark with all the animals 7 days before He brought the worldwide flood on the earth (Genesis 7:4).

If we multiply 7 X 1000 = 7000 years (1 day=1000 years). Then add, 7000 years + 4990 BC = 2011 AD (year "0" must count for 1 year). Is this the year Christ will return as the "Lion of the tribe of Judah" to rapture the saints, destroy the universe bringing judgment on the ungodly, and create a new Heaven and Earth? There is much Biblical information to support this.

As for "not knowing the day or hour" as you have stated, remember God told Abraham and Lot before He destroyed Sodom + Gomorrah with fire and brimstone.

As for "Christ coming as a thief" we have to see what else God says on this topic-see verse 4 below. In 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 we read, "But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
2 For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
5 Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness."

The Bible tells us that Christ WILL NOT COME AS A THIEF TO THOSE WHO ARE SAVED ie., born-again.

There is several other facts that we do know. There were 3 feasts where the Jews needed to come to Jerusalem to present themselves before Jehovah. One feast is called Passover. Jesus was crucified on the day the Passover was to begin. Pentecost was the feast day in which God the Holy Spirit was poured out-this began the "chruch age." There is another feast toward the end of the year called the feast of Tabernacles (or booths) or the feast of ingathering. This feast marked the final harvest. This feast lasted 8 days. Perhaps the Lord will return during this feast of ingathering. When Christ does return, He will bring to heaven all those whom He has redeemed.

A lot of people say something about 11:11 GST...

Also, St. Malachy, a Catholic saint(obviously) fell to the floor in St. Peters and something started talking out of him....he, or whatever it was talking through him, has successfully predicted all the saints, in order......there is only 1 left.

So, after Benedict, the last Pope...the one who will lead us astray...that could correlate with 2012...

ok well someone thumbs downed me? Why? I speak of nothing but the truth...

The Mayan's are not saying 2012 is the end of the world. It's the end of the Mayan's calender. A rebirth.

It is a hoax. 12.21.2012 is merely the day the ancient Mayan calendar ends. They thought they would be around to make a new one. Don't fall for the hype.

What do you fear? If you belong to the Lord, you have no need of fear. Just be prepared to meet the Lord and all will be okay. Do you believe in Jesus?

Why worry about 2012. We are not even promised tomorrow. Just be ready and watching.
