My dad is a pastor, so there is quite a few. I am a little too young to remember this incident, but I have heard the story many times. When my brother was just old enough to go to the bathroom by himself, we had an evangelist come to the church. The way the church is laid out, there is the main sanctuary, and the platform went way back. On one side was a food pantry that led out to the main hall way, and on the other was my dad's office. Now my brother had to go to the bathroom, so he went out to the hall way were the bathrooms were at (using the main exit, not the pantry). It was about fifteen minutes later, and my parents were worried about him. So just as my mom is getting up to go check on him, my dad sees my brothers leg stick out from the pantry door on the platform. A second later, you see the rest of my brother wearing nothing but a smile. My dad tells my mom, "Honey, go get your son." My mom goes up to get him, and he runs away from her darting to the other side of the platform. Everyone in the sanctuary sees him, except the evangelist. People begin to laugh, and the evangelist doesn't understand why. He is trying to preach holy ghost fire, and people are laughing. He finally turns around, and when he realized why people were laughing he called the rest of the service off. Now is that the best memory, I don't think so but it is the funniest. I do remember having to sit in the main service, because there wasn't a children's church sometimes. I also remember as I got older, and moving to a new church, how great it was meeting new people, and making new friends. I remember then getting older, and going to youth group and helping out in children's church. I have some really good memories. I don't think that I can pick a favourite. God Bless.

There was this one church in Oklahoma that served donuts every Sunday morning after sunday School. Donuts and milk. I have to admit I like that particular church as a child.

Perhaps my best memory came when I decided to follow Jesus at 17. My baptism day was extra special. My journey started on that day.

there is this catholic hymn which goes "Take of my bread and eat, drink my new wine, Take of my life and live, branch of the vine.
There was a kid in my grade who, like me, was an altar boy. He was asked to lead the hymn, he was only about 8 or 9 and he got up to the microphone and started singing "take off my head and head, drink my urine..." It was a classic moment for me, will never forget it. First time i've ever been happy in a catholic church, not even the pictures of disfigured jesus could get me down after that!

My parents started two churches. One was started in the basement of my house. I remember meeting in the badly lighted basement and it reminded me of how it must have been in the early church where they had to meet in secret. One church went on to have 300 members and the other over 1,000. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

It's kind of funny....I was five at the time. My sister and I were always dressed in matching starched dresses. I used to call them crunchy. Petticoats, white ankle socks, patent leather shoes...the whole nine yards. We had hats on that had an elastic that went under the chin to hold it on and it was too tight, so I put the elastic in my mouth to ease the pressure. Suddenly my mother noticed it and yanked it out of my mouth and put it back under my chin, then gasped because it left this horrible mark from the corners of my mouth up my cheeks like an evil grin. She spit on her hanky and tried to rub the marks away and my sister loudly said, "Mama's spitting on Dawnie!"

LOL...it's a fond and amusing memory that I have.

I loved the quiet in an empty church. There was always a faint scent of incense, furniture polish and perfume. It was a safe calming feeling.

Feeling the Holy Spirit (I could see others did too) and connecting with everyone else there. I can't really put it in words, but it was the best feeling I've ever felt... kinda like a glimpse of Heaven.

Them telling me to get out. I've been to church millions of times. Many of the people there were nice, but some were just jerks. It was a lot worse than them just shouting "Get out!"

Being starved to death before going. Seriously, I hated everything about going and complain all I can nowadays. I just never really liked going. I did what I was told because that was the kind of kid I was. Then I grew up, started thinking for myself and decided that it just wasn't for me.

Still, in one of my Religious classes the teacher asked if the only reason we were there was because our parents made us go. Everyone said "Yes." She got offended and said that maybe she shouldn't come the next day. I just sat there thinking, "Please, you don't have to." Woman was fat too.
