Matt 23:27-28
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.

23:30-31
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.
Wherefore ye be witnesses unto yourselves, that ye are the children of them which killed the prophets. KJV

23:33
Ye serpents, ye generation of vipers, how can ye escape the damnation of hell?

23:35
That upon you may come all the righteous blood shed upon the earth, from the blood of righteous Abel unto the blood of Zacharias son of Barachias, whom ye slew between the temple and the altar. KJV

Real Christians...... NEVER...... tolerate .... SIN.... !

In their Own Lifes.... and in that of their Church Body!

(1Corinthians 5:4-5-6-7) In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, when ye are gathered together, and my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus Christ,

(1Co 5:5) To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.

(1Co 5:6) Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump?

(1Co 5:7) Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

Thanks, RR

The bible is not tolerant of sin. Should it be? At the same time, the emphasis was on hating the sin, not the sinner.

Did you miss this part -

“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to it! How often would I have gathered your children together as a hen gathers her brood under her wings, and you would not! 38 See, your house is left to you desolate. 39 For I tell you, you will not see me again, until you say, ‘Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.’”

This was from Jesus to people just before his crucification.

Maybe you should have put in there what the pharisees had said to Jesus....

-----------

I should mention they aren't in Matthew 23 because it's the seven woes...but the pharisees are always questioning Jesus and his disciples actions and how they upset God and how they should be shamed for that....

And this is Jesus' reaction to the constant persecution of Him and His followers..

Christ admonishes the people to follow the good doctrine, not the bad example of the scribes and Pharisees. He warns his disciples not to imitate their ambition and denounces divers woes against them for their hypocrisy and blindness.

John 12:47 And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.

Chew on those words from Jesus. The Pharisees were the Christians of the time of Jesus. Hypocrite!

These are the vipers, the power elite who have been a thorn in our side for eons. It is and was time for their judgment. He was not talking about all people. You must use discrimination.

Hmmm.... This seems like an excellent way to treat people who believe they have the ear of God, but it says nothing about people who don't believe in God. This story depicts Jesus in an internecine argument, not with a government body or those outside Judaism.
