I gather from some of the comments I've read tonight that some people think I'm stuck-up and narcissistic. Is this really the general impression I've given....?

So, I was reading my Bible and starting thinking about some things--Scientists think that all our continents used to be one, hence Pangea--in the old testiment when God struck down the tower of Babel and confused their languages, perhaps this is when the continents broke apart....Also, if a 1,000 years to us is a day to God, then technically it's only been 2 days since Jesus left the Earth--just some ideas that hit me when I was reading my Bible the other day. What is your thought on these thoughts?

My definition of "racism" is saying something inappropriate against one of the three major races of mankind. There are many, many different ethnic, religious, and language groups that claim "racism", but I think that would be a different word unless it is used solely against their "race". By my definition, there can be no "racism" against Muslims or Hispanics because these groups can be made up of any of the three races and be any nationality.

If you do not believe in the rapture--how do you explain these verses?

Luke 17:34-37, "I tell you, in that night there shall be two men in one bed; the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left. Two women shall be grinding together; the one shall be taken, and the other left. Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left. And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together."

Just try this. It is from an orthopedic surgeon...
This will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but, you can't. It's pre-programmed in your brain!

1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (they will think you
are GOOFY...) and while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction.

I told you so!!! And there's nothing you can do about it!
You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.

Are you able to beat this game?

I mean, really. 10,000 years of civilization, most of which NOT founded or worked upon by whites, and *this* is what we have to show for it? We can't cure modern ailments or address things like homelessness, abuse or poverty in the richest nations. But we can be just as pointlessly racist as a middle-ages dirt farmer. Yay us. I'm so proud.

(P.S. Unless you can produce a flawlessly accurate pedigree stating names, dates and locations, what the **** makes YOU think you're pure *anything*? *guffaw* Most of you racist motherfuckers probably can't trace your muddy lineage back more than a pathetic century or two. It's bad enough you talk out yer ***, but doing so without any concrete proof except the immediate present-day skin colour is laughable. Seriously. Don't you have more important things to do?)

Atheists, Christians, Catholics, Muslims, Jews, Hindus, etc claim that their way is the right way. Either they argue about how to worship god or if there is even one to begin with. But dont we need to focus on more important issues like global warming instead of insignificant things that ultimately arent even that serious to begin with?

And then consider this, christians say only 12% of the USA is atheist.

I've never been asked. So how can they say that?

If it is only 12% then why is it taught in school? if 12% is the majority, then is backwards, forwards? is up, down? is falling, flying?

I would like to be surveyed before I see things like this. How old is this survey?

Watch the movie Hairspray during Black History Month? I mean, it's a newer(well the new one is....but the 80s isn't that old) movie, good music, and it teaches an important message of acceptance of others that aren't like you....even when everyone else you're friends with and even you family says not to.

Huh....now isn't that a message R&S needs, except from black and white to believers and non-believers?

Who said that God created things to stay exactly the same for all time. Isn't it possible that both are true. God may have made things so that they will evolve over time and adapt to the changing world. Also no one knows exactly what adam and eve looked like "in his own image" could be anything. Who are we to say that the weren't resembling the now-a-day apes. For all we know the "big bang" theory and God creating the world could be two of the same thing. So, what do you think?

i wanna hear your guys view.
upon reading from many websites and all , i am very disturbed by one person post.
he said something like whats the point of going to heaven when everyone you loved , be it your parent , your friends , your wife , your child all go to hell?

some religions state that other religion other than it will go hell . so for example , if i am this religion call xyz, but my wife ,my parents who arent , and will never convert , goes to hell becos my religion says so . i would be very sad even though i may or may not recall them after i died and its disturbing to know that . they might be stubborn or wadsoeva in your eyes but they are the very person who fed me , protect me , who love me for what i am and due to different religion they arent with me?

for this reason , thats the purpose i am not converting to other religion and i am sticking with my parent religion , so wherever they go , i will follow . it may be naive to u guys , but still i wanna hear ur view

I do believe that I believe in God. I feel spiritual at times. However I do not believe in the Bible, I completely disagree with organized religion and when someone preaches to me I either fall alseep or feel the need to defend athiests. I call myself agnostic but since I do believe in God I don't feel that is the correct term really. But there doesn't seem to be another term that is even close. Someone just told me that it is not possible to believe in God yet not be religeous in some way. Not really sure how to word the question here. I guess I just want to know how others think - can a person believe in God yet completey abhor religion & disregard the Bible as rubbish.
You should also know that while I believe in a God I do not believe that He/She/It/Whatever is all powerful. What do you think? Please would like answers from all - religious people, agnostics, and athiests. Thanks in advance.

I'm 18 years old, and I finally have time to get a job. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure what to do. My friend told me that there is a job opening where he works (Hallmark) and i'm going to go there tommorow. Is it rude to go right up to the manager and say " My friend told me that there is a job opening" or " Are you hiring?". Do you have any tips for this sort of situation?

Or am I just thinking too much into it?.

I'm honestly wondering... do you accept any scientific theories as fact and reality or do you consider any and all as "just a guess, a speculation"?

Or do you reject evolution more because you feel it conflicts with your religious outlook and less because of it's "theory" status?

Conquer,Convert or kill them.

"The three-in-one/one-in-three mystery of Father, Son and Holy Ghost made tritheism official. The subsequent almost-deification of the Virgin Mary made it quatrotheism . . . Finally, cart-loads of saints raised to quarter-deification turned Christianity into plain old-fashioned polytheism. By the time of the Crusades, it was the most polytheistic religion to ever have existed, with the possible exception of Hinduism.

This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault.

The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.

The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God.

These “pagans” (Islam and Judaism) must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages." -- The Doubter's Companion (John Ralston Saul)

Lot of time, as I spend reading the word and prayer, I tell God that I won't do this and that. I see myself, asking God to forgive me, confessing my sins and asking him to renew my first love for him. I exhale my sins and inhale the word. But lot of times, I see myself, falling into temptation, doing same sins over again. (too much time into internet, not having a loving heart, putting other priority first other than God. How can I be pure, experience his power, love? it seems like when I make commitment, it seems temporily. How can I feel not defeated? I spent time doing quite times/ prayer but how can I really be Christ minded?

I think that natural beauty is best and that make-up is only worn because of the media and insecurities. The media shows girls how they "should" look so they copy it. Am I crazy in thinking that the world would be better if no one wore make-up and had to strive for unrealistic beaty? Or am I just some wacko who is going against the norm and should be corrected?
