Who said that God created things to stay exactly the same for all time. Isn't it possible that both are true. God may have made things so that they will evolve over time and adapt to the changing world. Also no one knows exactly what adam and eve looked like "in his own image" could be anything. Who are we to say that the weren't resembling the now-a-day apes. For all we know the "big bang" theory and God creating the world could be two of the same thing. So, what do you think?

It would be easier if both sides just saved their energy for exercise instead of fighting with each other. Since neither side will give in, why not just focus on your beliefs and forget about the others?

If they did that, think of how many miles they could add to their workout each day!!! Whew! Think of it! They follow their belief and they are healthier for keeping quiet and exercising more! What a deal!

Man looking like apes, I don't think so. Apes are not human. God created everything to reproduce after it's own kind.

Although I do agree that from then to now, horses could have changed to look a little different, dogs could have changed, wild cats could have changed and etc., unless they always looked the way that they did and just became extinct and the ones today didn't.

However, the type of evolution that one species like a fish evolving into a human being is not what God says He did.

Because of the recorded fact, in God's written word, the Bible, that Adam and Eve brought death into the world when they sinned, nothing could have died before man was created. If the world had taken several billions of years or even years to evolve, then death would have had to have happen before Adam and Eve. Not so.

This is more a question of faith. In science we have what is called hypotheses. Hypotheses are possible explanations for observed situations or facts. Once a hypothesis is proven by logic and fact then it becomes a theorem. The truth of the matter is that evolution is not even close to being proven. It is a hypothesis that appeals to a lot of people but it is not a proven fact and it is a disservice to call it the “Theory” of Evolution. Also the truth of the matter is that no one can prove the hypotheses of the Big Bang and to call it a “Theory” is also a disservice. It all comes down to what you believe is true or to faith.

Now to the question if evolution and Christianity can co exist or even agree.

The biggest problem that most believers in evolution have is the whole concept of God. I am not even going to go there. (chuckle) This is something that philosophers have spent thousands of years debating.

The biggest problem that most Christians have with evolution is that from a theological point of view it denies God His deity and man his humanity. It you look at the courses of a seminary you will find entire classes taught on God’s deity and man’s humanity. And theologians have spent a couple of thousand years debating the nature of both.

To those that believe in both they have either decided to accept both because of a through study of theology and science they have taken the jump of faith to believe both!
Or they have presumed that what they were told in church and school are both true and accepted them both!
Or they have just decided that is sounds cool with no presumption or faith and believe both!

(Or they could have decided that both sound silly and neither can stand the scrutiny of science and/or philosophy!)

It all comes back to a question of faith. As a Christian it would be silly to casually shrug the questions off as being unimportant. "Without faith it is impossible to please him." Hebrew 11:6

I am not saying that it is not possible, but since you asked I will present you with a few problems with the statement.

First: why would an omnipotent God work that way? It seems like a big waste for him not to use his unlimited power to set the universe up exactly the way that he wanted it before he put the highlight of his creation--man--into it. That would be kinda like putting your Malibu Barbie (TM) in her Malibu Barbie Beach House (TM) without putting the inside together, then throwing all of the accessories in over and over until they land exactly where you want them.

Second: The Bible--Christianity's holy book--says very clearly that God created the world in 6 days. Though there is some dispute as to how metaphorical this literal 6-day creation is, there is no serious scriptural basis to make such an assumption.

Third: Things do not grow more complex--they grow less complex, in fact. Molecules break down into simpler molecules. Living things eventually wear out and die, the organism not able to produce new cells faster than the old ones die off. All known energy in the universe is dispersing itself in the simplest form of energy we know--heat. So to promote a theory where everything is supposed to move closer to perfection when the reality is things move closer to chaos is absurd.

There are three reasons, to start with.

You cant put evolution and Christianity side by side and say that they are similar, if not, the same. Reason being is because the Bible says we were created in God's image. Well if we were to say that Christianity and evolution were the same, then that would mean that God was a monkey and that Christians are, in fact, worshipping a monkey. This can't be true because one of the Ten Commandments says, "Do not worship any other gods besides me."(NLT) That would be contradictory to what the Bible says. So no you can't put evolution and Christianity together and say that they are similar, if not, the same. Hope this helps!!!

I've got little use for the big bang or evolution although the latter is probably quite true . Christianity is only as good as the understanding and practice of it's teachings and that may require some editing to remain corherent in the light of knowledge available now a days . the mainstay of christianity aside from the urban legends and exploitative additives is older than Christ but scholars usually alone realize this .Neither seem to have any true bearing upon each other as far as I can tell although science in itself certainly does work hand in hand with religion .

The bible states that man and beast were created in their current form along with all the cosmos in 6 days. Evolution says otherwise.

If you pick and choose the parts of the bible you want to believe, or believe that the bible is metaphorical, then the bible can mean anything you want it to if you skew it enough. If a holy book can mean anything, then essentially it means nothing.

So either The obvious truth is true, or god is real. People hate the former, so deny it and fabricate false evidence for the latter.

Evolution says nothing about Christianity or God. Most Christians accept evolution as science. A backwater group of Christians has embraced the doctrine that the Bible is the literal word of God. They cannot accept Genesis as allegory, since the doctrine, already critically demolished by the internal inconsistencies of the Bible, fails on page 1. To defend this doctrine, armies of "apologists" and outright liars will do whatever it takes, without regard to the teachings of Christ, to defend this failed doctrine.

Christianity and Evolution can never co-exist as truth because evolution is false. God's word says that what he created would bear seed that would always produce it's own kind, not change into something else.

I think in the next ten years or so Christians will accept evolution and suddenly they'll be seeing verses about how their god did evolution all over their bible. Some things never change.
