Do you think we should be spending billions and billions on the space program?

Is it really worth it? I think the money could be used in more important places, like on this planet.

no i don't think we should be spending all that money. they complain we don't have enough money for this and that but they can alway's afford to go to space.

It does seem like a waste of money at first sight considering all the problems we have on Earth i'll agree with you. But if your at all interested in finding out a higher meaning and the religions lack of practicality don't satisfy you. Then it might be the most important thing to spend money on. Think of it also as an untapped economy as well. Sure were 50 years from flying asteroids or Mars, but the potential to gaining iron and other heavy metals, plus maybe water, definitely makes worth the money to me.

Just because we spend a lot of money does not mean we are spending it effectively. I am for increased spending on space research and education programs that would benefit space research like science and mathematics education. More space research and education, less war in Iraq.

If you could just push the space program back a little, you could feed the hungry, improve hospitals, build and improve decaying inner city schools and create new jobs for the unemployed.

If these sort of thing sounds important to the president, he could just say, "Mmmmm, we're going to hold off on that $10 billion rocket for awhile. We have hungry, sick and illiterate children down here that I have to help FIRST!

Every penny that we have spent in space research has turned in to a Dollar for us on earth.

There are many things which would not have been invented if there is no space program. there would definitely be more life loss if there were no space based weather research.

we spend billions and that is why we have 19 Trillion Dollar Economy.

Don't mind. The government is spending the money for the government . As long as the government will not obligate you to contribute for that purpose, keep relax and sleep well and get ready to work for tomorrow.

YES THE U.S.A. SHOULD SPEND THE MONEY ON SPACE! LET'S STOP STUPID TAX DOLLARS FROM GOING TO DUMBASS RESEARCH LIKE THE EFFECT OF ALCOHOL ON CATFISH! HELL, OVER 12 MILLION SPENT THERE AND I COULDA TOLD EM FOR LIKE SAY ONE CAR PAYMENT---ALCOHOL KILLS FISH!
