i'm an athiest and i just spent a whole week at a christian camp being a camp counseler going through about 31/2 hours of worship and praying every single day. Now my aunt that i'm living with is forcing me to go to church with her tomorrow. She's trying to change me but i'm not going to. i'm not going to change what i believe in. how do i convince her that i'm not going to change and that it's pointless that i go, and that she shouldn't force me to?

by the way i can't be disrespectful about it because she doesn't have to let me live with her and i really don't want her to kick me out. she says that as long as i'm living under her roof i have to go, but i don't have anywhere else to go. please somone give me some advice, so she'll just accept that i'm not christian and how to get her friends to just accept it also and stop telling me about the bible thinking that i'm actually going to change

Blood is necessary to sustain life

Date Written: 1450-1410 BC
Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.

Scientific Discovery:
During George Washington's day, the practice of blood-letting to treat various kinds of illnesses was common. In fact, George Washington died from this very treatment. In 1830 AD, Dr. Marshall Hall came out in strong opposition to this practice. However, had any of the doctors who practiced this treatment read these Bible verses, they would have known that it could have fatal consequences..

Silly question, but it is so strange when maggots pick on a person when that person is feeling down already.

If possible do not repeat an aforementioned choice so as to promote diversity in your answers.

For me... Mahatma Ghandi. I do not agree with everything he may have said, but it nonetheless required great force of courage and will for him to say it.

I am aware that a few members of the ordained clergy, mostly anglican, methodist, and othodox, have been allowed to become catholic priest. These men were carefuly screned by the church and the approval for them to become priest had to come from the pope. I was wondering if any of the bishops that have been appointed since this practice began have been married? Can a married priest be promoted to position of bishop in the catholic church? Is there anything with forbids this when they were allowed to come into the priesthood?

So I have always wonderd about Ouija Boards, Until recently I have even been scared of saying the word out loud. My mother has told me stories of when she was a child and using one in her home (its a 107 year old farm house now, very creepy and stale feeling). Since the one time of her using one she never even tuched the boards, where the one she used is I don't know. But she tells me stories of the horrible things she accidently and unwillingly(sp?) invited into her house. Things that asked her to let them in, and turnd lights on and off. Until about a year ago I never believed her. Even now I am a sceptic. One day my grandpa called from his house-her childhood home- and left a msg on the answering machine (im going to change my mothers name) you could hear my grandpa over the whispers in the background, you could easily hear they were callling my mothers name. The one thing it said that sticks out in my mind is "we are waiting for you marie, come home to us". (continued in details)

Almost every religion has at least one sect that’s mystic.
Generally these mystics have more in common with each other than they do the faith they originally came from.
I hope I’m simply uninformed and would love to hear a Mystic view from Islam.

Thank you ahead of time, may God be with you.

I was thinking the other day if a church that teaches about a different religion every night and allowed everyone to attend in order to learn about each other would work.

Doesn't our indiffererances come from our ignorance of each other, this would be an attempt to erase this.

................................. Well not that I think about it most of them are there.... The asteroid Ceres.... And that Pluto-like planet with a really eccentric orbit called Eris. well where I am going is, why where some of them named after Oranos and Kronos (as an example) I mean... I am pretty sure that still people followed him and their reals where important to them (like the harvest) but. Wouldt officially the most important Gods Be the olympians. I mean.... Ok so What I am trying to ask is why wasnt a planet named after Athena T_T I mean.... Aphrodite and Hera are there like Venus and Juno... why not a Minerva? Wasn't Athena and Apollo one of their most productive gods after those of the harvest like Demeter and Dyonisious. We already have Apollo/Helios/Sun but where is Athena? I mean Wouldn't Athena Dererve a planet more than vile Ares?........... :\
