What is your way of enjoining what is right and forbidding what is wrong with your brothers in Islam. How many of us follow the ways of the Holy Quran to repel other's evil deeds with your good deeds so as he to become a close friend of you later. Do you agree with the ways of arguing and fighting back in harsh ways with everyone who disagrees with their view of Islam when Allah says "Do not argue with the People of the Book (Jews and Christians) except in good taste" How can a Muslim then argue in bad manner with a brother Muslim?

Please tell me your thoughts regarding this and what are the very basic rules of enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil which is a duty of every Muslim.

Who did what (father, mother, suitor, daughter, etc)? Who found a match, who proposed and to whom, who accepted, etc? How was this all handled?

Also, if the woman was a widow, how were things different? Or what if a first-time bride's father was dead -- did someone fill in his role?

I'm studying biblical guidelines on marriage, and I'd like to contrast them with the customs of the time.

This is the real thing, we were fooled by an imposter claiming that Susan had died. She did not. She was on a trip with her son and a neighbor, who is now being sued, ripped off her accounts that she had entrusted as well as her pass for Yahoo. Can we please show our support for Susan? She wants to leave Y/A and she doesn't realize how much we need her here. I am a Muslim, she is a Christian. I feel so much affection for this person who befriended me when I first started out on Answers almost a year ago. She was one of my first friends. I know she is being honest, and I really don't want her to leave. We need more people who are peace loving and show how true people of faith act. Can you please show your support for her?

Sunday Christian (also Once-a-weeker) is a derisive term used to refer to someone who typically goes to church on Sundays but does not strictly adhere to the doctrines or rules of the religion otherwise.

The term is most often used by some Christians to deride someone whom they feel is lukewarm in the Christian faith. From their perspective, a "Sunday Christian" is attempting to cheat God by taking only those parts of the religion which are appealing or convenient without having to commit to anything. They believe the "Sunday Christian" is attempting to buy his/her way into heaven with a minimal amount of effort.

If you are. How does it feel to be judged by other Christians as they feel that you are just giving lip service to get in with the big fella?

Can anyone tell me why the terrorists claiming to be Muslim are not following the Quran? What do you think of this? And to those that are going to quote violent stuff, how about quoting everything that's around it, too, so that everyone can see the whole picture clearly. As in, that it's about self defense.

"Islam is a religion which fosters freedom of life, ideas and thought. It has forbidden tension and conflict among people, calumny, suspicion and even having negative thoughts about another individual.

Islam has not only forbidden terror and violence, but also even the slightest imposition of any idea on another human being.

There is no compulsion in religion. Right guidance has become clearly distinct from error. Anyone who rejects false gods and believes in God has grasped the Firmest Handhold, which will never give way. God is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (Surat al-Baqara: 256)

If you believe that "heaven" is the action of living blissfully after the judgment day, then does it mean that it is a future event? If you use the present tense when refering to heaven, do you do it because you think "heaven" is happening right at this moment?

No mean answers.

My neighbor is harassing me, spraying weedkiller on my lawn, flowers, and vegetables. She broke the stem of my 12 ft. sunflower and said she wanted to kill me. All because I put down grass seed on my lawn in the dirt areas where she steps out of her car. I need to protect myself, and to bind her from doing further harm. She's trying to get me evicted, too. I've tried ignoring her, but that has just made her more aggressive. I'm afraid of her because I think she's mentally unstable. And she has a drinking problem.
