Who did what (father, mother, suitor, daughter, etc)? Who found a match, who proposed and to whom, who accepted, etc? How was this all handled?

Also, if the woman was a widow, how were things different? Or what if a first-time bride's father was dead -- did someone fill in his role?

I'm studying biblical guidelines on marriage, and I'd like to contrast them with the customs of the time.

You are asking questions as if you are still a little child. Have you not studied the sources of fire? The inventions of matches? and so forth and so on.

You do not know the meaning of widow? meaning of dead man or peson?

You are so ignorant about things. Biblical guidelines is really in contrast with Customs and traditions, because customs and traditions are not biblical.
