Unity is the answer. In the old days (the Golden Days), all Muslims were united. They all were following the sharia and the words of Allah, no other words were important to them. Now, Muslims are not united & each Muslim has his/her own belief or behavior in Islam. Muslims need stronger leaders & stronger faith in Allah. When this happen, Allah will give them the power to flourish again.

The Golden Age of Islam replaced into an entire reformation interior the Livelihood of the finished worldwide. earlier the Europeans took it Over to them. Islam replaced into what led to this golden age and so it may nevertheless. The requirement is that the human beings come back to the Believes and define what's like residing in islam or a Muslim existence, this is basically too plenty suppressed by ability of the label of Orthodoxy of Muslims. And we would desire to additionally comprehend that Islam has no longer have been given to be a manner of existence somewhat a perception. day after today would be primary if we build the backside at present.

The factors responsible for the muslim golden age are present in the link itself:
Value of knowledge.
A "House of Wisdom" where both Muslim and non-Muslim scholars sought to translate and gather all the worlds .... (ie. full protection & tolerance of other relgions)
During this period the Muslim world was a cauldron of cultures ......ie. understanding & respect to other cultures. Religious freedom helped create cross cultural networks .....
To sum up - value knowledge, accord equal importance/rights/freedom/protection to other religions & cultures.
Now more than ever in this age of globalisation, countries need to have what it takes to attract and retain the best brains in the world. Your ultimate assets are your brains. Manage this there is no reason why you cannot have another golden age.

This will first and foremost take effort from every Muslim to practice the five pillars one hundred percent of the time. This will then be carried on to our families, and we will start commanding that which is good upon them and forbidding that which is not. I will point out here that this must be a peaceful process, and we must not get over zealous. I was at a wonderful lecture the other day... and the Shaikh was going over the life of Muhammad (peace be upon him.) He was pointing out to us the fact that every time there was a large jump in the number of followers to Islam... it correlated with a time of peace and prosperity, not warfare! We must remember that Islam is the religion of peace and justice. Allah knows best!

At a time when Muslims were at their peaks of Knowledge, Science, Poetry and masters in all fields. Christians in Europe were fighting about small matter of trinity and Mary's divinity. Now we Muslims are fighting over small matters when we lost the true knowledge of Salaf, Science and all those qualities. Once upon a time Evey single home of Baghdad was a Madrassa of Students (School). Every home in Spain had a library and there was a time Muslims travelled to far distances in sake of Knowledge. We really have to retain those qualities back. Follow the ways of the Sahaba (R.A), that the solution. قال الإمام مالك بن أنس رحمه الله :
( لن يصلح آخر هذه الأمة إلا ما أصلح أولها )

Enjoining good and forbidding evil.
The Almighty God said : "The believing men and the believing women , they are guardians of each other , enjoin good and forbid evil... "God attaches primary importance to enjoining good and forbidding evil " as a duty for men and women. For he knows that if it were fulfilled all the other duties , easy or hard , will be accomplished. That is because "enjoining good and forbidding evil" is a call for Islam , it regains the rights of the oppressed and opposes tyrants.
O' people , the Messenger of God said : Whoever sees an aggressive tyrant legalizes the forbiddens of God , breeches divine laws , opposes the tradition of the Prophet , oppresses the worshippers of God , but does not concede his opposition to God in word or in deed , surely Allah will place that tyrant ( in the Hell ) where he deserves.

Heaven forfend.
So far I've yet to see any real evidence that Islam believes in a peaceful co-existence with other faiths. The Koran itself states: 'Do not take Jews and Christians as friends'.
If you're happy with your religion, that's great, but why on earth do you feel the need for everyone to agree with you?
Islam is the last religion in the world I would ever embrace.
ARABMUSLIM has just proved my point by yet again ranting about 'zionists' which is her way of saying 'jews'. It's not relevant to this question. And her 'facts' are wrong.

Assalaamualykum brother. My husband told me of Muslims going to Spain to seek knowledge during the Muslim empire. I agree that now it seems that Saudi Arabia is the only Muslim nation following Shariah Law. Poor Palestine is having too many fighting among the people, and the Lebanese are busy fighting with each other. Afghanistan is at a complete loss in my opinion due to democracy and men not caring about the Muslimah in their country. I have heard stories of General Saladin taking Palestine back and what the Muslim empire was like and it sounds really wonderful. I would like to live to see that happen Insha ALLAH but that might not happen in my lifetime. Yes too many of the Ummah are busy fighting over what to do with Israel and talking about what to do with the West in regards to keeping them from invading Muslim countries like they did with Iraq, and Afghanistan. When the Muslims made great strides in medicine, agriculture, established the first democracy, perfected the Mathematical system for which the West wouldn't have today if the Muslims didn't add the numer 0 making it possible to make bigger numbers, and other great things that I can't think of. It's a shame that Arabia after the Prophet's(PBUH*) death split into all these seperate countries and divided themselves into sects. The Prophet(PBUH*) ordered us not to divide ourselves into sects because then we would be like the Christains and Jews divided amongst ourselves and weak. When we were united into one great Muslim state, one great Muslim empire that stretched from Saudi Arabia to Spain we were a great empire and Alhamdudllilah lasted for 600 years. I don't understand why we ruined that by dividing into seperate countries. The world would be a better place in my opinion if the Ummah reunited into an Islamic state that followed Shariah Law and don't let Western influences guide us and lead us from the Straight Path. Now there are Muslim countries that have sadly gone back to the days before Muhammad's(PBUH*) Prophethood in regards to their women being mistreated and twisting the veres in the Qur'an to suit their own needs like the Palestinians and their suicide bomings not realizing that is not Martydom. Martydom is dying for the sake of Islam not blowing yourself up along with innocents though the Zionists certainly aren't innocents. It's a shame that the Muslim empire broke up into seperate countries and that the Ummah are divided. Because of this it was easy for dictators to take power like Saddam and it was easy for the West to invade Palestine, Iraq, and Afghanistan. Sadly the Ummah is not Ummah anymore because we have gone far from what the Qur'an and Hadeeth teach and the Prophet's(PBUH*) teachings and ways of life. I'd hate to see what Muhammad(PBUH*) thinks of us being divided and fighting amongst ourselves. Hopefully the Ummah will become true Ummah again and untie into one Islamic state again and the sects will dissappear and the Ummah will have the strength to get Palestine back and eradicate the Jews from Palestine. Insha ALLAH this will happen with ALLAH's guidence and help. I think we need to renoune the Sunni and Shia division and all Muslims need to become just Muslims and renounce their sects though that is easier said then done and continue to condemn the terrorists. I think that there are many haraam things happening in the world including Muslim countries with alcohol, growing of cannabis, and other drugs, women not observing full hijab(hijab, Abaya, and Niqab as it states in Sura 33 verse 59), prostitution, gambling all Western influences by the way. That is the day we can all strive for aside from the Day of Judgment of course. There used to be a time back during the Muslim empire when there were no poor people anywhere in the world and the Ummah had great knowledge and strength. It would be wonderful if the Ummah could make this world like the great 600 year Muslim empire again.
