Christians are caught in the middle. "If the Islamists gain power, obviously that will mean an increase in persecution. But the secularists are also opposed to the church. They want basically no religion. They want the people to be secular. But to be Turkish-- in their culture--is to be Muslim.

Persecution has already hit the Christian community. Three Christians were killed by young radical Muslims in April. Nettleton just returned from meeting with the survivors. Jesus says that if they persecuted Him, they will persecute us as well.

WHere would be science, medicine, space, food industry, engineering, literature, movies/entertainment.

NOTHING would exist, we would still be in the dark ages, because all of these things would be considered to be sin.

I don't understand how Christianity thinks it can win people over by introducing concepts like heaven/hell, and a judgemental/fearful god.

If anything, christianity is scary.

Yes, the world has sin and evil, and we need answers and something needs to be done,

but is extremism with religions like Christianity the answer?

DENY yourself?

Oh, so let me give up my personality completely, say no to going to the beach to have some fun, say no to career, shopping, fashion, fun, and give it all up for God, because this life is worthless and hes all that matters?

THIS LIFE is the only physical experience we've GOT!

And this "GOD" is trying to take that away from us, and make us worship HIM.

If that isn't scary, I don't know WHAT is.

I work at a car dealership as a receptionist and the office manager is such b**** all the time. She picks and chooses who she wants to be nice to and with me having to work with her because she is my main manager I hate it. How do I deal with it and should I just find another job and quit even though I love working here with all the sales guys/women and evereyone else but her and the girls in the office?

Im in ninth grade and im kinda reflecting here. Why are kids sooooo stupid? what im talking about are the kids who pick fights for stupid reasons, walk around with an oversized ego, make a stupid face (tahts cool to them) and hold some stupid gang sign when they take a picture, and speak with the word "cuh" or "nigguh" or "bluh" or wahtever. I mean, hey, i have no problem that they act like that, its their prerogative, but what bothers me is when they criticize other people just for not being posers like them. its not the way they dress and look that bothers me, its the way they act towards people! it just makes me wanna punch them so hard. i remember i had a friend who got a girlfriend, but the girlfriends friends always told her that he wasnt good enough just for her just because he didnt act that way, dress that way, etc. I deno, i just think its kinda stupid and i wanted to type it out. So if you actually bothered to read this whole thing, congrats, now give me your opinion

have grown up with a big family that drinks alot. my granma has eight brother and sisters. and they are all big drinkers. and she will have card parties were they play penucle and they drink and cuss and have a good time. i have heard dirty jokes. and they don't mind kids cussing. they are all great people, they will stay up until 6 in the morning playing cards and drinking.

i notice alot of people think it's wrong to have kids were there is alcohol. but this is how i was raised. i think it's fine. they have let me taste alcohol. i actually think kids are more resonsible with alcohol when raised like this. i want to know why some people are so offended by this envirernment? i am a good kid and so are my cousins and my sisters and it is so much fun growing up this way. i have so many great memories. i wouldn't change a bit of it.

why do people get offended by this? why do people believe kids should be know were around alcohol? what are your opinions on this?

Someone took my dog! I know who it was and where the dogs is however The police will not help me Because my dog is unfortunatly an all american mutt. I have always believed in the wiccan way and was wondering if it is possible for someone to "call" The dog back to me using magick as I only live a VERY short distance away from where he is. I hope someone can help me!!! he means alot to me. I have tried to reason with my neighbours but they refuse to talk to me and claim they do not have him but I have seen him before with them! PLEASE help if you can!!!

Because judging from what I've seen today with respect to this ten year old girl from last night, I'd say there are more than a few who claim to be Christian yet seem to have no respect for the relationship between a parent and a child.

They seem to think nothing of dismissing that relationship in order to proselytize to a * ten * year * old * girl * who does not appear to be surpervised by any adult at the time she asked her question.

I hear a lot about the effort to pass laws that require medical facilities to report underage abortions to parents, yet see many who have no respect for a parent's responsibility to influence a child's religious beliefs. They seem to think they have an obligation to prey on a child who strays here to teach things like religious discrimination.

People claiming to be real christians are doing this.

And they don't seem to be Catholic (o.O)

Why are these people preying on a vulnerable ten year old child?

I hear a lot of negativity about opposing religious views on here, so I'm wondering (this is primarily for those who post questions/answers about how "stupid" or "evil" or whatever a specific religion is) what would you do/say/feel/think if you woke up one day and discovered that someone you're close to, your best friend or even your own mother, was a member of the religion you've bashed the most on here?
