It was the love He had for you and me. Not the nails nor the crowd but rather the very Love He had that caused Him to hang on the tree of Calvery for mankind.

Yes, love for mankind kept Jesus on the cross.

No, I think the 2 nails through both hands and the 1 through his feet with the platform pretty much did it.

Let's see ... his father let him die for us .. right ..? And then he brings him back good as new, except for the puncture marks, right after the weekend ... right? (I guess he knew Thomas was going to make a big deal out of it - so he didn't heal his own wounds.)
So .. god, who was Jesus, had himself killed, for a weekend, because he loves us... very interesting ... And then he's coming back, right? I suppose he needed a long rest after that 3-day "death." I'm sure this all makes sense ... in a Lewis Carrol kind of way.

Yes I know that what kept Him on the cross was the everlasting love that He has for me, and u, and all of us. I always look to the cross and remember the sacrifice that Jesus made for me because He loved me so much. It is what keeps me going when I feel I can't, it is my reassurance that even if not one person on this earth loves me, He loved me enough to die for me so that I may lead a life and live it more abundantly. Thanks for reminding me to look to the cross. God bless!

Looked like nails on every crucifix that I grew up staring at in complete horror.

Three nails, one for the son, one for the father and one for the holey ghost.

100% BS.
The Romans used big ole' nails.
I don't think they were big on love for their victims.
