“Know, 0 adored Christ, and make no mistake, that aside from the Devil, you have no enemy more venomous, more desperate, more bitter, than a true Jew who truly seeks to be a Jew... a Jew, a Jewish heart, are hard as wood, as stone, as iron, as the Devil himself. In short, they are children of the Devil, condemned to the flames of hell.” – Martin Luther

“O Lord, I am too feeble to mock such devils. I would do so, but they are much stronger than I in raillery, and they have a God who is a past master in this art; He is called the devil and the wicked spirit.. They have transformed God into the devil, or rather into a servant of the Devil, accomplishing all the evil the Devil desires, corrupting unhappy souls , and raging against himself: in short, the Jews are worse than the devils.” – Martin Luther

“What then shall we Christians do with this damned, rejected race of Jews? First, their synagogues should be set on fire, and whatever does not burn up should be covered or spread over with dirt so that no one may ever be able to see a cinder or stone of it. And this ought to be done for the honour of God and of Christianity, in order that God may see that we are true Christians. Secondly, their homes should be likewise broken down and destroyed. Thirdly, they should be deprived of their prayerbooks and talmuds in which such idolatry, lies, cursing and blasphemy are taught. Fourthly, their rabbis must be forbidden under threats of death to teach anymore.” – Martin Luther

“Now whoever wishes to accept venomous serpents, desperate enemies of the lord, and to honor them, to let himself be robbed, pillaged, corrupted and cursed by them, need only turn to the Jews. If this is not enough for him, he can do more: crawl up into their...... and worship the sanctuary, so as to glorify himself afterwards for having been merciful, for having fortified the Devil and his children, in order to blaspheme our beloved lord and the precious blood that has redeemed us. He will then be a perfect Christian, filled with works of mercy, for which Christ will reward him on the-day of judgment with the eternal fire of hell (where he will roast together with the Jews).” – Martin Luther

“In truth, the Jews, being foreigners, should possess nothing, and what they do possess should be ours.” – Martin Luther

“...Cursed goy that I am, I cannot understand how they manage to be so skillful, unless I think that when Judas Iscariot hanged himself, his guts burst and emptied. Perhaps the Jews sent their servants with plates of silver and pots of gold to gather up Judas’ piss with the other treasures, and then they ate and drank his offal, and thereby acquired eyes so piercing that they discover in the scriptures commentaries that neither Matthew nor Isaiah himself found there, not to mention the rest of us cursed goyim..” – Martin Luther

“If I find a Jew to baptize, I shall lead him to the Elbe bridge, hang a stone around his neck, and push him into the water, baptizing him with the name of Avraham!.. I cannot convert the Jews. Our lord Christ did not succeed in doing so; but I can close their mouths so that there will be nothing for them to do but to lie upon the ground.” – Martin Luther

“I hope I shall never be so stupid as to be circumcised; I would rather cut off the left breast of my Catherine and of all women.” --- Martin Luther

“If we are to remain unsullied by the blasphemy of the Jews and not wish to take part in it, we must be separated from them and they must be driven out of the country.” – Martin Luther

You do know that you will never, ever be successful in convincing anyone to see things as you do if they don't want to? So why not just give it up?

Genesis 1:12 The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed after their kind, and trees bearing fruit with seed in them, after their kind; and God saw that it was good.

I'm also aware of the scriptures stating to not drink in excess (although "excess" is open to interpretation) and that the body is a temple and god should be honored with it.

So where does the stance come from that drugs and/or alcohol are evil? If created in nature, created by god, wouldn't that make them good according to scripture? and if man's manipulation of those natural ingredients, then why would pharmaceuticals be considered ok?

Revelation 17: 9-11 shows it is symbolic of something. We should know since it is going to be the start of the great tribulation when it goes down or as the bible says it has fallen.

9 “Here is where the intelligence that has wisdom comes in: The seven heads mean seven mountains, where the woman sits on top. 10 And there are seven kings: five have fallen, one is, the other has not yet arrived, but when he does arrive he must remain a short while. 11 And the wild beast that was but is not, it is also itself an eighth [king], but springs from the seven, and it goes off into destruction.
12 “And the ten horns that you saw mean ten kings, who have not yet received a kingdom, but they do receive authority as kings one hour with the wild beast. 13 These have one thought, and so they give their power and authority to the wild beast. 14 These will battle with the Lamb, but, because he is Lord of lords and King of kings, the Lamb will conquer them. Also, those called and chosen and faithful with him [will do so].”

That there is no god, or that there is a god but it is completely indifferent to life in general?

Or perhaps is it that there is a god who is SO interested in the human condition that it spendds all of its time watching us like paranoid parents just waiting for their children to screw up?

Christians make this claim because THAT"S the gospel. It's something of our own doing. We're simply recipients of God's grace though obedience to that same gosel.
After all: It the "Truth" that sets men free. "Our" Lord affirmed THAT.
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free." John 8:32
We are not trying to keep "it" from anyone. In fact, anyone else can know it too......if you want it.
Some people seem to act as if "we're" trying to keep it form them. NOTHING could be further from the truth.

The Bible said that God made the land and made it firm (Genesis 1:10, Psalm 104). No one has ever seen one piece of land become two. It cannot be re-created in a lab. Doesn't it take faith to believe these things? Why is it taught in public schools?

Does anyone know of a program in PA for helping low income senior citizens to buy a new furnace? My inlaws are in desperate need of a new furnance but can't afford one. I've tried community action and the aging programs with no help. There must be something out there. Thanks

Have you ever pondered about this?...have you ever felt that life does not have another meaning but destruction and sadness, hurt, and betrayal?..Why are WE humans helping our world crumble to chaos?..why are we not willing to change?..are we all waiting for a wake up call?. a turning point in our lives, such as a death in your family , a traumatic event, to make us change, and become better?

Re-think your answers well..do not answer vaguely, but expand on your point of view, on "why" these things happen. Do not argue but contribute your view, and do not judge others about their own opinion. Please be as truthful as you can.

This event is narrated in both the Bible and the Qur'an.

A careful examination of the two versions will show that the Qur'anic version . One important difference between the two accounts is that whereas the Bible describes the flood as a worldwide flood (see Genesis Ch. 7) the Qur'an mentions it as a local flood affecting the people of Noah (see Qur'an 7:59-64).

Today it is acknowledged that no record exists of a worldwide flood occurring at the time specified in te Bible. How did the author of the Qur'an avoid this mistake unless the author was God Himself?

The closest thing in history to a flood like the one described in the Bible and the Qur'an, is a discovery made by Archaeologist Sir Charles Leonard Wooley. In 1929 he discovered remains from a flood which occurred around 4000 B.C. His findings are described in the book entitled The Bible as History by Werner Keller. Keller tells us: "The incredible discovery at Ur made headline news in the United States and in Britain" (The Bible as History, 2nd Revised Edition, Bantam Books, 1980, p.27). But was this a worldwide flood? After describing the extent of the flood, Keller explains; "Looking at the map we should call it today 'a local occurrence"' (p.28). "In other words." writes Keller. that flood was "obviously not of sufficient magnitude for the Biblical Flood" (p.29). Furthermore, he says; "A flood of the unimaginable extent described in the Bible still remains 'archacologically not demonstrated" (pp.29-30).

What is your personnel opinion about the flood?

I asked an honest question that reflected the reality of a lot of people, which some people agreed and thanked me for bringing it up. But the majority of the responses tended to be juvenile name-calling. Is this because the majority of users are 14 or under? Or do people really have nothing more useful to say? It baffles me that people can feel so strongly about an issue, and yet the most persuasive thing they can find to say is "You're a *******."

Come on people. If you really believe in your positions, convince us intelligently and with respect for people (remember that this is an international board with people from all cultures) Leave the cheap insults and name-calling on the playground where they belong.
