wickipedia is an on line source that allows people to insert what they know about subjects. Unfortunately, some people are mis-informed or just being silly when they post things. So, even though wickipedia is a good source to quickly find out things, not everything listed is accurate. Thanks and have a good day!

A regular encyclopedia is a series of published books, whereas Wikipedia is an online resource.
Also, a major difference is that users of Wikipedia can contribute and edit content. Whereas a paper encyclopedia is in a "read only" form, Wikipedia can change constantly.
This can be good and bad, because you never know when some special interest may decide to skew the truth by posting false information or vandalizing the various entries. I'd suggest that Wikipedia is a good starting point for research, but should be verified using other resources.

Wikipedia is so named because a wiki is a piece of internet software that allows anyone to edit content - and because wikipedia is just that, an encyclopedia that anyone can edit.
Becuase of this it is not a completely reliable form of information. Often most articles are MOSTLY correct, but there are frequent factual errors, either deliberate or otherwise. As a result you cannot cite wikipedia for research purposes ESPECIALLY NOT COLLEGE ESSAYS (my college will take off a high percentage if you use it, some will fail you) - but it's sometimes a useful tool to find out the outlines of a subject and where to go from there. One good aspect is the community that use it is often quite conscienscious and will correct any knowing errors, and point out points of bias or grey areas.
Regular encyclopedias take great pains to make sure all the information within them is correct - hence why you have to pay for them. Wikipedia is good for what it is; free.

A "regular" encyclopedia, like Britannica, is composed by specialists or experts in the area about which they write.
Anyone can contribute to Wikipedia or change it.

wickipedia is similar to this site, regular people can add entries on just about anything.
Wicca is the study of Witchcraft and Paganism. And my religion is no weirder than yours, thank you very much.
