im tired of people sayin "a sin is a sin"... all sins are not the same... and no, just because you break one commandment doesnt mean you have broken them all... how does that make sense?? in the bible, GOD made the 10 commandments... which is a list of the GREATEST of sin.. and the 10 commandments are placed in order of their severity... the first commandment is "thou shalt have not other GODS before me, love the lord with all your heart".... if you break that commandment, that is the worst sin of all... and it even say that in the bible... it says, "if you worship another idol before me, it is the ultimate sin" and ifyou blaspheme GOD after you have experienced his love and blessings, then that is an unforgivable sin... that is the ONLY unforgivable sin. so, are you saying, that if i speed down the interstate (not obeying the laws of the land), i am no better than an adulterer or a murderer?? so how can that be true?

Yes. If you break one, you break them all. What this means is that all sin is sin and just one sin will make you worthy of death and therefore you will go to Hell. So that means everyone will go to Hell because everyone has sinned. However, there is good news from God. This good news is that Jesus came on Earth as a human and lived perfectly with no sin and therefore conquered both death and Hell. So after we die and we stand before God to be judged, we can be judged on our own life (full of sin) and take our punishment of Hell for eternity or if we accepted Jesus Christ when we were alive, then God allows us to trade our sinful record for Jesus' perfect record and then receive eternal life instead. That is the good news, but we have to give our heart and life to Jesus while we are still alive to get that benefit.

The Commandments (plural) are all part of God's Law (singular).
If you break one part of something, then it is broken.

If you break a bone in your arm, your arm is said to be broken, even though not every bone in your arm is broken.

God's point in giving us the law was to show us that no man could follow it. It doesn't matter if you've broken one or 100 of them. You are now a sinner. Jesus came to save sinners. It doesn't matter how many sins you've committed. You are still a sinner. Get it?

Yes, in God's eye if you sin once your not worthy of Heaven because your not perfect. That is why we need Jesus. He lived a perfect life and was sacrificed for us.

It says basically that sin is sin. No sin is greater or lesser than any other sin. It is all the same to YHWH.
