Since when does anyone have the right to force their belief as the only true belief, when everything is based on mans teachings and understandings, based on their own historical ideas of accuracy?
Muslims have the same right to their belief as western civilizations have a right to their own.
To fight or argue with each other not only serves to disparage others from finding their truths, but makes hypocrites of those who swear allegiance to their faiths.
Who am I to say they are wrong?

He was anointed with the Holy Spirit and with power !
Isaiah 61:1-3 The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me.....
Jesus' baptism is when the anointing happened:
John 1:32-34
Matthew 3:13-17
Jesus quotes the Isaiah 61 prophecy in Luke 4:16-21.
Oil was used traditionally in the old Testament to anoint kings. But it is symbolic of the Holy Spirit - a shadow representing the spiritual substance. The true anointing with the Holy Spirit is also available to christian believers.
At least 2 prophecies about the Messiah indicate He is divine:
Isaiah 9:6-7 and Daniel 7:13-14
NB that Jewish people who don't like Christ's claims, haven't altered these texts - its not been corrupted to fit their or christians ideas.
Ishmael's leaving Abraham's household probably because of bullying Isaac has meant a dislike of the whole idea of sonship being passed down perhaps. Hence the Arab hostility to the idea that God being love, forming in himself as it were a love relationship of Father and Son, and making sonship not servitude available to those who believe in Christ.

the christ in jesus christ is a derivative of the greek word christos which means annointed. among the jews their kings were anointed with oil, and since Jesus was supposedly a blood line decendent of king david then this was probably the followers saying was the legitimate king of israel. what the people were looking for was a messiah who would rise up and free from from roman oppression. the first time we even hear of a messiah is in daniel, with no mention of jesus when they were captive in babylon, but they wound up being freed by king darius anyway.
jesus probably was smart enough to know there was no way Israel could have won a military victory over Rome and why he shunned it and turned to a spiritual crusade.

Humans can't be gods. But prophets can do the work of God, with His permission. The Messiah (Mashiach) is the Hebrew/Jewish name for the prophet who will deliver the world from its evil and destructive state.

And just what do you expect from a people that believe in a false religion created by a little man who was illiterate, power hungry tyrant murderer, and a child molesting scum. They have to reject Christ Jesus as the true Messiah. To do otherwise would be to admit that Mohammed was a fraud and that their religion is also a fraud.
You can't expect them to do that, can you?

Actually, the definition of "Messiah", even in English, is "Anointed One"
And the definition of "Anointed" is "lightly dressed with oil in a symbolic manner"
So technically, everyone's definition of Messiah is "One anointed with oil", and I think everyone agrees that Jesus was Holy, or at least claimed to be.

considering the jewish definition of messiah is nowhere near the christian definition, the muslims are a lot closer to what the people in the bible would have thought.

in Islam, we believe Jesus(or Isa) will come before end of the world, with mission to save christians from "Jesus is god" to god is one and only and Mohammad is the messenger.
He is never a god, he is just a messenger same as Moses, Noah, Lot, Zacharia etc.
