Someone explained it to me like this. God knows our life but doesn't always know exactly what you're going to do. Look at it like this. A video game. When you are playing it, the makers have every move programmed in there. There isn't a move you can play that the makers haven't programmed. But it's up to YOU what move you are going to make at that point and time. Hope this helps.

This is a variation on the determinism vs. free-will argument. It appears in philosophy and science and the time. I'm not sure it's resolvable, but it's interesting. It think there is probably some level of truth to both and that a balance exists. It seems possible that even if everything is "planned" that not everything goes according to plan. It's also possible that only the major stuff is planned like tsunami here, so on, and the banal details are up to the person in question, lunch at 12 or 1?

Hey sup..
Im mad i didn't think of this question...its pretty thoughtful.
If everything in reality are pre-ordained. That takes out free-will, without free will....we might as well call ourselves robots that are being controlled. I would assume by praying, you bring yourself in favor with God. And the closer you come with him, the more you can "use" his help. Maybe we were born to sin, and make mistakes. But by establising the faith, that God exist...we can clease ourselves from the bad deeds we've commited?
I dont know if my fate have been planned out, im not sure if there is a god. But i live my life to the best of my ability...i do pray, and if there is something out there....thats great.

Hello,
This sounds like an imperfect humans opinion. I'd like to know where in the Bible it says that God has planned our entire lives. It would compromise the free will He's so graciously given to us. Can He see the future? Yes, of course, because He's God. (Isaiah 46:9,10) But, does that mean He has every aspect of our lives planned? No. It doesn't mean that He chooses to look into every person's future. The future He sees is what lies ahead for humans in general. Not our individual lives. We use our free will to determine whether or not we choose to serve Him. Salvation lies in our own hands. The Bible lays out the rules and conditions, then it's up to us to follow and comply with them. That's how we're saved. If our individual lives were "planned", there would be no need for free will.
Hope I've helped.

God didn't have your life planned out- he knew what would happen in your life. There's a difference. What he did do was make sure you had all the opportunities you'd need to be saved. Praying is still important. God has it planned for everyone to be saved. However, He gave us all free will, and we have to accept His offer of salvation in order to be saved. (And Jesus had to come too, but salvation is a two-way street- God gives us the opportunities, but we have to make use of them.)

KUDOS to you that is a super good question. Make you think and evaluate your religious beliefs.
I was taught that everyone is born with their destiny already made out by god. But as I got older I started to believe that you chose the path you want to take your life through and when you need help you communicate with god. Not sure if it's making allot of sense.

Hah, this is a tricky question, and I'm glad you asked this question, because it shows that people actually THINK about their religion instead of just following what it says blindly, not really caring what it all means. I know a lot of people like that, and it's really silly that they put more thought into what they wear for the day than what they say they believe in. But anyways,
I don't really believe God has our life planned out for us. Not to say he COULDN'T do that if he wanted to, I just don't think thats how it works. Otherwise, I agree with the first person who answered this question when they said it's negate the concept that he gives us free will. My belief is that he ultimately knows every step we'll take , but not because he made it that way. He gives us free will and allows us to decide our own fate, but he already knows what are decisions will be. And when we make wrong decisions, he already knows about them BEFORE we make them, but he doesn't forgive us beforehand, because he gives us the freewill to choose whether we want to ask for forgiveness or not., and if we don't, it's on our own head.
At least, thats what I believe, and it makes sense to me. I hope I answered your question honey! Loves,

If we are predestined then why tell our children not play in the street, or keep the poisons locked up so they can't get into them, because if we are predestined, all that won't matter, because no matter what they do "if it's not their time" they won't die.
The Bible says at
2Â Peter 1:10 : “Do your utmost to make the calling and choosing of you sure for yourselves; for if you keep on doing these things you will by no means ever fail.” (If the individuals were predestined to salvation, they could not possibly fail, regardless of what they did. Since effort is required on the part of the individuals, we can't be foreordained.)

"...there was a rich man, and he habitually dressed in purple and fine linen, joyously living in splendor every day. And a poor man named Lazarus was laid at his gate, covered with sores, and longing to be fed with the crumbs which were falling from the rich man's table; besides, even the dogs were coming and licking his sores. Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham's bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried. In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom. ... Abraham said, 'Child, remember that during your life you received your good things, and likewise Lazarus bad things; but now he is being comforted here, and you are in agony. Lk 16, 19-25
God gave every person a gift package of free possibilities, which can be used this or that way.
Your life is like a bag of grains. You choose either to sow them or eat them. If you eat them now (like this selfish rich man), you will be hungry later. Some see it clearly, some just feel it somehow.
"...when Gentiles who do not have the Law do instinctively the things of the Law, these, not having the Law, are a law to themselves, in that they show the work of the Law written in their hearts, their conscience bearing witness and their thoughts alternately accusing or else defending them on the day when, according to my gospel, God will judge the secrets of men through Christ Jesus. " Rom 2, 15-16
Every person is free to decide about his or her life. God made us free persons, not puppets. With our decisions we kind of create ourselves, because God gave us his creative power, making us His image and so a way we became kind of "gods" (not with a Hindu, but with a Christian meaning - free, conscious individuals). Human persons create their own hell, by making themselves their own god (idol), or kind of create their heaven by becoming one body with Christ, and letting the Holy Spirit work in them. (This way they might become one with the crucified and risen Christ, so they and their lives become sacrifice of true, unselfish love - of charity - for God and the other people.) So human beings after being created recreate themselves consciously (either co-working with God in this or rejecting it), the final result is their creation, too. For some, hell, for some, heaven. This is what they want.
Why God let people kill his Son, why people did this, why they commit sins every day against God and each other - we don't know exactly (we do not understand the original sin exactly). But the whole world was created for Christ, so that God, the Father can give Himself to the world, to humans by Jesus Christ. The New World that will come with Christ is so much better, than this one, that this is enough reason the evil things of this world might be let happen. The coming glory overshines every darkness.

destiny and fate are two different thing !! , fate is your final destination in life , its where you will arrive and its also what you will be in the end - have no doubt on that , but destiny is what shape your life everyday so that you reach you fated fate.
OK , this is how it works , since you are living your life on freewill and therefore you are always tend to diverd or move a way from the path that leads you to your final fated fate - then thats when your destiny start to come to effect on your life so that you get back to the correct path that leads to your fated fate..
example: lets say GOD have fated you to be a housewife forever !! , but on your freewill you tend to enter modelling which might bring you to acting ( and this career will definately not bring you to your fated fate ) - thats when destiny will come in at the right moment and play in your life and make you back to the original path ( in this case destiny might cause some uneasy incidents that will bring you back to someother career )
It happens all the while , most of the time we complain about it and be sad - actualy destiny is on its work at us to lead us to our fated fate.
hope it helps !!
