Ok, so imagine that on some rainy Tuesday it all kicks off, and we as humanity suddenly have to deal with the arrival of an alien race on our doorstep.

Without getting sidetracked too much, assuming that these aliens are the vastly superior life forms that have been butchering cows and raping white trash for generations, and have the technology advantage and no doubt their own culture (possibly own religion etc) too.

On the surface, perhaps the two dont necessarily come into conflict, but consider the threat of our Earth centric religious views suddenly being brought to bear against a race who has more knowledge of the universe - or having to deal with the fact that we are not a "chosen race".

Would discoveries such as this change religion forever? Would it spell the beginning of the end for them? Would they adapt to encompass them also? Or indeed, is there no conflict at all?

SPECULATE!!!

I am not a religious person, but I take great comfort in the fact that I will always be part of this universe iin some form or another. No matter what you do to try and anhialate me I will always belong. Even if I became a million tiny particles of dust it is still part of me. When the earth exists no more and the whole planet just disintegrates my essence will be floating off somewhere into the vast universe. Every being that ever existed on this planet is still here in one form or another. I don't need a heaven or hell. I'm part of this huge cosmos and until nothing exists anymore I will always be part of it regardless what you might believe. Thats a rather comforting thought and death holds no fear for me. Religion has locked us into some sort of myth that there is something better after this, so when your playing your harp and sitting in front of some sycophantic god who needs your worship to boost gods already inflated ego, I will be floating off as some tiny particle.

I photographed a beautiful stencil of this quote on a building near Marksburg Castle in Germany. I want to frame it and give it as a gift. Before I do that, I would like to know the correct Latin to English translation. I understand the first phrase, so it is the second one that I really need help with... Thanks!

Then please explain to me what I don't know about homosexuals? I know you will be thinking why I am asking this question - but I really want to know the facts. You just pass a comment at me saying that I am ignorant, but you don't back it up with facts.

If you can give me true facts, then I will learn something more about your way of life. I am a heterosexual, and I could just spew stereotypical crap on you like a lot of people do - but I don't - because I want to learn about your way of life.

Leviticus 18:22

a passage from the Mosaic Code that is often used to condemn homosexual behavior in general. In transliterated Hebrew, the verse is written: "V’et zachar lo tishkav mishk’vey eeshah toeyvah hee."
* literally translated as "And with a male you shall not lay lyings of a woman"
Christians have interpreted this passage from the Jewish book as a bludgeon to bash homosexuals with but what is really being said here, is it about pederasty, temple prostitution, contaminating a woman's bed or something else? and to whom did the cleanliness codes apply? Did they apply to everyone or just a particular group of Levites? Thank you.

Hmm... to my understanding according to 2Nephi 32:2-5 (my fav. scriptures by the way along with 8-9 in that same chapter ^_^) and Elder Holland's discourse in the last General Conference, it is to speak without harming anyone, speaking and showing your faith, be careful with your words, etc... Am i right?
But according to some questions and answers here it seems like it is something else? like another language or something? hmmm.... what is it all about, am I missing something?

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!! ^_^

I was raised catholic. O.k., and I dont think I am a good one, and I think they have too many of their own rules. Alot of freedom is lost. I bread the silly rules, not the 10 commandmants but the catholic church's silly rules they make up. I've baptized my kids catholic because thats all I know of religion but have not been faithful using the strict rules on them. I feel bad, should We change religion?

I'm currently a practicing Catholic, but I'm growing tired for my church's political views, and feel that perhaps I would be better off going to a conservative Evangelical or Protestant church rather than being a hypocrite that disagrees with the Catholic beliefs.

Question is- how do you find a conservative church? I'm a traditional catholic and I was shocked at how liberal the protestant churches are in my area, even the ones that say they're Evangelical. Is there a way of finding churches that are very traditional in their beliefs?

It is pretty obvious that almost every important character in the Bible is male! Why is it that men are the main focus in the Bible, and women are just there merely as a supporting role. But most importantly, Jesus himself is also a man! And God is also referred to as "He, Him". Aren't men and women supposed to be equal? In christianity, women cleary are inferior(by a large margin, almost insignificant). God even created Adam before Eve. Only when he saw that Adam was loney did He decide to create Eve(how pityful).

in what they do would you be friends with them? I never thought it would be possible for me to do that, but I find some of them are very nice people. So yes I would become good friends with them. One world af advice christians if they are interseted in knowing more about Jesus they will ask, do not tell them they are going to Hell, that will drive them away not just from God but from you. I am talking from experience here. Some of them are very helpful people, and I love them but even though I do not approve of what they do, they have a choice chrisitans, and everybody should respect them, and learn to get on with other people. Now do not get me wrong, becasue I stuggle with an illness and sometimes find it hard to get along with other people, but in my heart I am coming to accept other people. Chrisitans I am learning not to Judge other peoples decision, because you never know if that person will come to Christ and will become a good friend. So Chrisitans before you judge someone who

It is quite obvious that the Bible posseses alot of inconsistencies, whether it be internally or externally. Alot of scripts contradict with themselves, and alot scripts contradict with the real world. Such as the several verses in the Bible that mention that Earth is a stationary object and is the center of the universe(not the exact wordings).

If christians say that these inconsistencies is due to human error in translation, how do you tell what is correct and what is not in the Bible? Besides, to mention that the earth doesn't move would be a pretty unbelievable mistranslation(and wouldn't it be too miraculous that every verse that mentions that Earth doesn't move would be identcally mistraslated . If translators can make such erronous translations, who can tell how erronous the whole Bible is? The part where God condemns Gays might have been mistranslated, and reality he condemned hetros, who knows? After all the years of mistranslation....

they will almost always fall back to "but those aren't REAL Christians"? I find this incredibly denigrating and dismissive of other people's faith, and contend that those making that statement aren't the real Christians. After all, what happened to "judge not, lest..." and who are you to decide what is in other people's hearts?

The question I'm referring to was this one:
