It is quite obvious that the Bible posseses alot of inconsistencies, whether it be internally or externally. Alot of scripts contradict with themselves, and alot scripts contradict with the real world. Such as the several verses in the Bible that mention that Earth is a stationary object and is the center of the universe(not the exact wordings).

If christians say that these inconsistencies is due to human error in translation, how do you tell what is correct and what is not in the Bible? Besides, to mention that the earth doesn't move would be a pretty unbelievable mistranslation(and wouldn't it be too miraculous that every verse that mentions that Earth doesn't move would be identcally mistraslated . If translators can make such erronous translations, who can tell how erronous the whole Bible is? The part where God condemns Gays might have been mistranslated, and reality he condemned hetros, who knows? After all the years of mistranslation....

A few inconsistencies? There are literally hundreds. Not just in translation but even the 4 gospels are wildly different.

Other than the parts that match word for word, if you took out the name Jesus and read them you would think they were talking about at least 3 if not 4 different people.

Too many christians do not know the actual history of their books (yes there are two of them as much as you may try to ignore one of them) and think it was put together around when christ died (if he ever lived) but the earliest gospel, written as an acount and for some unexplainable reason written in the 3rd person was written 40 or so years after his death. The last was written about 120-150 years after, how could this person possibly have witnessed anything chist supposedly did?

True. The Book of Genesis actually contains two separate Creation accounts, one right after the other. Several parts of the Bible were also added by editors in later translations--i.e., the passage in Leviticus condemning witchcraft was added during the reign of James I to the KJV (at least, that's what I read somewhere, and it makes sense).

that is a convenient excuse for those who will accept that what you say is an inconsistancy rather than really find out what the scriptures are saying. Hebrew word studies are helpful and understanding who is being addressed in the scripture is very important. I have not come across one claimed inconsistancy that when you get down to the meat of the word, what was going on at the time, what the Hebrew words were and meant and who was being addressed and found any true inconsistancies.

My Dear Brilliant: I can understand you are a good christian, a believer, which I respect you for that..., but you are trying to fix the whole lie of certain group of people. I think the damage is beyond repair. How come some one with a right mind will believe that certain group of people are "chosen people by God and others are cursed..." simply to justify their evilness and associate their selfishness with the history of God. May be people's who used to live in the stone age might believe this fiction but not in the 21st century.

Any way, I respect your faith right or wrong unless you use it as a tool to oppress and kill others. Thank you.

Gosh, another muslim pretending to be someone else. It is not OK to deceive to propagate your religion, whatever Mohammed said in the Koran.

Are you aware that according to the New Testament mohammed's angel must be one of Satan's? That the "source" of that revelation is not God according to logical thinking on the teachings on how to recognise false teachers in the Bible ? That that angel's desire is far from the salvation of those submitting to his message ?

-Test the spirits to see if they come from God
-False prophets produce bad fruit (improper sexual relations, suppression and murderous violence against opponents etc)
-God has provided an atonement sacrifice in Christ and has no reason to throw it away.

As for salvation, when you believe Christ you are forgiven, as millions can attest. You receiove the Holy Spirit as millions can attest. The basic message of Christ is absolutely true, and spiritually important in terms of being reconciled with our creator, and receiving a salvation to make us fit for heaven. An alternative rejecting this core message, personally verified in the lives of genuine believers, is hardly going to come from God.

some human beings have faith that the bible is devoid of blunders, and that it truly is one single non-give up revelation from taking off to end. That incredibly seems top to fairly some human beings, yet truly the bible itself does not make this variety of declare for itself. In different words, people who % to have faith in biblical inerrancy are incredibly bringing a concept TO the bible, fairly than basing the theory ON it. the worry with the perfect e book concept is which you may desire to harmonize each thing you study, and this finally ends up transforming into the a number of messy theology that makes human beings ridicule Christians. If Christians % to be credible, they could desire to be consistent with the training of Christ. Jesus does not call the bible "the interest of God" using fact he's the interest of God, no longer a e book. Jesus does not call the bible the main suitable authority, using fact He claimed to be God interior the flesh. maximum mandatory, the bible as all of us are conscious of it did no longer exist in the process the time of Jesus' ministry on earth, neither did it exist while Paul wrote his letters, so everyone pointing out that "all scripture is ...." nicely, despite--they're speaking out of turn and out of time. human beings have disagreed on the variety of books interior the bible. Early missionaries to western Europe did no longer even have get right of entry to to scriptures as all of us know them--they depended on variations of the gospels that have been no longer top translations and had little reasons (pronounced as "glosses") written between the strains to assert "this implies...." as quickly as we undertaking some fabric merchandise greater effective than what Christ taught, then we are in actuality committing idolatry: basically God is worth of worship, in accordance to Christian coaching, so the bible is a secondary count. the theory that sixty six books (or greater, or much less, looking on what you think of belongs interior the bible) could be in entire contract and mirror one non-give up and consistent revelation is something that defies logic, and creates a stumbling block for faith.

Read two or three different translations of the Bible and note where the verses agree.

Learn to read Hebrew or Greek!

Responsible commentaries point out where a word can be read different ways and explain why its translated one particular way.

Doesn't this put a hole in your entire argument by admitting the Bible does not state such a thing?

just because there are some inconsistencies, does that mean one should say screw it all together?? as a human being, we know that we are not perfect beings. that is how we justify the "inconsistencies" as you would call it. mainly we have faith and pray that we are living right in God's eyes.
there are inconsistencies in our laws, do we say we should not have any? that would be ridiculous. there are flaws in everything, including the bible. that does NOT mean that there is not a foundation of truth in the words/

Allah says in Quran: Surah Baqra 2:79
Then there is woe for them who write the Book with their own hands and then say, "this is from God", so that they may gain small price in lieu of it. Then there is woe for them for the writings of their own hands and woe to them for such earning.
O Christians, do you really edit the book of God (bible) and earn from copy rights and deserve wrath and curse of Allah?

Christians confessed that they are Corrupting and Interpolating Bible

Concept of trinity Trinity is taken from 1 John, chapter 5 verse no 7 "For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost; and these three are one."
In Bible (R.S.V.) revised by 32 Christian scholars of the highest eminence backed by 50 different co-operating denominations, this verse which is the keystone of the Christian faith has been removed as an INTERPOLATION, as a fabrication and as a concoction. It has not been expunged from the Bible by the Muslims or non-Christians, but by 32 Christian scholars as a concoction fabrication because this verse does not exist in the original manuscript. We Muslims must congratulate the galaxy of D.D.’s (Doctors of Divinity) who have been honest enough to eliminate another lie from the English R.S.V. Bible, thus bringing it closer to the teachings of Islam and the Glorious Qur’an.
