people having their ciggy break in the street!!!!!!!!!!

:o(

I say ban smoking in all PUBLIC places, not just enclosed ones!
If they want to smoke let them have certian places for it, away from everyone who doesn't want to smell/breath it.

What say you?

He was a rising star in the "gay rights" movement, but Michael Glatze now declares not only has he given up activism – he's no longer a homosexual.
In his column, Glatze doesn't mince words, calling homosexual sex purely "lust-based," meaning it can never fully satisfy.

"It's a neurotic process rather than a natural, normal one," he writes. "Normal is normal – and has been called normal for a reason."

After becoming editor of Young Gay America magazine at age 22, Glatze received numerous awards and recognition, including the National Role Model Award from the major homosexual-rights organization Equality Forum. Media gravitated toward him, leading to appearances on PBS television and MSNBC and quotes in a cover story in Time magazine called "The Battle Over Gay Teens."
Toward the end of his time with Young Gay America, Glatze said, colleagues began to notice he was going through some kind of religious experience.

How many times is that tired misconception going to be repeated? Atheists simply goto a search engine and type "Bible contradictions" and think they've studied the Bible. I've gone to web sites which refute those web sites, to what ends does it really help? Are atheists really so naive and arrogant that they believe no Christian has either studied their Bible or has a grasp of what they believe? I stake my life and that of my family on the knowledge of God and Christ. Is there anything in your life you can say that about? Do you really think you are more enlightened than ANY Christian? Isn't that a tad, naive? I'd be happy to debate any point, but in the end would you believe me anyway?

Did he not read of all the tasks of that one prophisied about?
The kiss.
The thirty pieces.
The rope from the dead donkey.
Didn't he know these things since he was a kid?

Was Jesus not instructing him as to his purpose when he reached into the bread bowl with him?

Didn't Judas fulfil more prophecy than all of the other 12 combined?

What do you think?

I've heard so many atheists complain about having the word "God" in the Pledge of Alleigiance and "In God we trust" on our money, but at the same time many of them still use the exclamations "Oh my god" and "Jesus Christ." I simply want to know why it is ok coming out of their mouths if they are so mightily offended seeing it anywhere else.

God said if I have faith in Him all my sins will be forgiven.

So doesn't the fact I continue to sin prove I have faith in His promise?

If I doubted him, and thought that some/all of my sins would not be forgiven (despite his promise), then I might try to avoid sinning.

But why avoid it when He has promised to forgive me for it?

Aren't those who are trying to avoid sin proving they have no faith in God's promise?

I've dated sporadically my entire life. I went through a period where I hooked up and made out with a bunch of guys before I met my boyfriend. We broke up recently after three years and while I'm talking to a few guys, I'm not interested, even though I think they're cute/attractive.

During the last few months of the relationship, I never wanted to have sex. In fact, I dreaded it. It was like a switch. One day, I just woke up and decided I didn't want to have sex with him anymore.

Sometimes, when were having sex - and I feel terrible for this - but I'd fantasize about other guys like rock stars and actors or random hot guys I'd seen on the street. Once in a blue moon, I would curiously think about girls and it didn't bother me.

Lately, though, I have been having dreams that kind of turn me on.There aren't other girls involved, but in the dreams, I either tell people that I'm a lesbian or I am in a place with the idea that I am.

What the **** is wrong with me?

Whilst chatting up a guy at a club on Friday night, he asked me where I go to school. I told him that I had graduated this year from College. He looked at me (almost disdainfully) and said "that doesn't count. " and then snobbishly pointed out that he goes to University. I was shocked and offended. I thought perhaps he was joking, but to my horror he was serious. I called him a snob and a half and laughed in his face, stating that obviously he was too drunk to handle this conversation. However it still bothers me, why would he say that? What kind of person demeans another's scholastic achievement?

Being an atheist means a free and clear mind. We do not allow our lives, morals, values and thoughts to be controlled by religious doctrine or beliefs. We think for ourselves and make rational, logical decisions for ourselves, our lives and our loved ones.
Did any of you start off religious and move to atheism? If so, did you feel the liberation like I did? I felt, almost literally, all the fear and worry just slide off me.
Do you feel that atheists have a deeper appreciation for the environment than religious people do? I surely do.
Do you feel that atheists have a deeper appreciation of natural beauty in each other and in nature? I do.
Do you ever look back on your religious life and shudder and say to yourself, "Wow, I was almost washed away in that mess!" I certainly do.
Share your thoughts, I'd love to hear them.
