how would you recognise the 10th avatar of Vishnu? What are the signs?

some of you are somewhat confused. i said AVATAR [a.v.a.t.a.r.] only two of you have understood my question so far.

No avatar has been recognized easily at its time as you can see from the history of the avatars .The avatar will be known only in the concluding part of the drama as you might have seen from the caseof all avatars of Hindu gods .so wait if possible .Only 5108 years of Kali Yuga have gone so far .We have the balance of 1074892 years of Kali yuga to go .An Avatar might be necessitated at any time during this yuga and it shall be recognized as such only during the concluding part of its life .We may not be there in our present garb to witness the avatar.. As we see the times are ripening for an avatar to come as we see from the day to day happeing all veor the world .the terrorist activities and the killing so fht einnocent lives are on the increase all the world over , even in thenme of the god .they call the god merciful but at the same time in th ename of that merciful god heinous and mericless croimes and killings are carried out all over the world . the arrogance of the humans is increasing every moment to himalayan proportions .All these will have to be accounted for surely.\the Avatar would come at the approriate time and few would be able to recognize it early and others will come to know of it when it strikes the devils .to save the innocents.

Ordinary human mind can not recognise the divine easily. Even enlightened souls can recognise Him only when He so chooses and not on their own volition. In various purans the 10th avatar has been described. Even to understand such signs we need to have the grace of god. During the avatar of 'Rama' and that of 'Krishna, very few could enjoy the Divine. Even the sage Viswamitra considered them as prince and proceeded to teach them 'Divine Formulae to mitigate hunger and sleep. Likewise Shri Krishna has also deluded many to think that he is just a yadava king.In the present Kaliyug, an Avatar himself has to show the signs and people can recognize one. I firmly believe He is already HERE. I have seen MANY signs to this effect. I am also pretty certain that 2012 will mark the beginning of "Ghora Yuga" (the Fearsome Aeon); i.e. the purification process that marks the END of the Kali Yuga and the re-establishment of the Sat Yuga. Nearly all religions say that this time around the world will end in FIRE...well, with 70,000 or more nuclear warheads out there, (most of which make the Hiroshima bomb look like a FIRECRACKER) we certainly HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY, don't we?

We can feel his effects.
Man is becoming evil towards other creatures and nature.
Every single organism will die at the end of the kali yug.
Tsunami,Earthquakes,Volcanic eruprions,Floods,Famine and Cyclones-the warriors of nature is eventually striking us.
Man has violated the nature by polluting His creations.

According to me KALKI the tenth avathar of Vishnu is in the form of Disasters.
In these disasters,good people wont suffer too much and the bad people will be the worst sufferers.

i think you are talking about "Kalki" (also rendered by some as Kalkin and Kalaki the tenth and final Maha Avatara of lord vishnu)As with the prophecies of many traditions there is some debate within Hinduism regarding the time of the appearance of the Kalki Avatar, as well as the Divine purpose that this appearance will signify.

Popular images of the Avatar depict him riding a white horse with wings known as Devadatta (God-given). In these images, Kalki is brandishing a sword in his right hand and is intent on eradicating the corrupt destitution and debauchery of kalyug. On his return, it is prophecied that he will vanquish the demon Kali, reconcile opposites, and renew the process of the Dharma (Paths of Virtue) and Creation, thus establishing the rebirth of righteousness and virtue.

According the the Kalki Purana, Kalki will be mentored by Parashurama, the sixth incarnation of Vishnu. Parashurama himself performed a penance thousands of years ago for Lord Shiva, who in acknowledgement gave to him control over celestial weaponry with which to cleans the Earth of Kshatriya corruption. Parashurama will teach Kalki how to perform similar penance to follow in his footsteps and achieve celestial abilities.

'Vande Vishnum Bhava Bhaya Haaram, Sarva Lokeyka Natham'

The 10th avatar of Lord Vishnu - Kalki is yet to come at the end of the kaliyuga period. As per vedic panchanga 4,32,000 years is the period of kaliyuga & only over 5108 (for exact figures refer to any updated panchanga/ephemeris eg. Daate's Panchanga) years have passed now. Hence, 4,26,892 years of kaliyuga are yet remaining.

So you need not worry about Kalki, as you & me & everybody will have taken many-many more reincarnations before he arrives.

God-realised saints who are usually peaceful, calm at mind & not given to emotions would reach the highest levels of excitement at the prospect of the lord residing in this world. It would be the dooms day for the wicked & a day of elation for the virtuous. Ordinary people like us may not recognise him, but even we would be affected by the positive vibrations that surge forth by his entry into this world, just like the people of Gokula who despite did'nt know that Krishna was the Lord himself, swam in the sea of devotion & happiness.

WHEN PEOPLE SAW RAMA AND KRISHNA MOST OF THEM KNEW INSTINCTIVELY THAT HE IS GOD.MANY FELL IN LOVE WITH THEM.HOW CAN A SOUL NOT RECOGNIZE THE PRATAKSHA LORD WHOM HE IS A PART AND PARCEL OF? KALKI IS GOD-THERE IS NONE ANOTHER LIKE HIM-ITS EASY TO RECOGNISE GOD BECAUSE WE NATURALLY FEEL HIS BLISS AND ETERNAL LOVE WHEN WE SEE HIM.OF COURSE IF ONE IS AS BAD AS DURYODHANA OR SHISHUPAAL HE MIGHT REMAIN IGNORANT BUT THOSE ARE EXCEPTIONS.
