Did you ever see a ghost?

I am fairly certain I saw something that was not human when I used to work in an old vicarage in Essex many years ago.

When the two lads whom I shared this room with discussed what we thought we had seen the night before it was all very similair and none of us had a logical explanation.

It was a lady dressed in green sitting by the side of one of the beds.

We then mentioned to the cleaners that we thought we had seen a ghost and they said, "Oh the green lady!"

How spooky is that!

I have never seen a ghost but when I was 12, I went on holiday with my school class to Wolfgangsee in Austria. We stayed at a hotel that had a white horse reared up on its hind legs outside (the name of the hotel escapes me as it was 20 years ago). We were staying in a room on the second floor next to a room that was supposed to be haunted by the ghost of a suicide that had jumped from the window after he got drunk in the downstairs bar.

The people staying in the room showed us what they were having to put up with every time they came back into the room from trips or meal times. They closed all the windows and locked them, turned off all the lights and shut all the doors. After locking the front door, they immediately unlocked it and entered the room. Inside all the doors were open, lights on and windows unlocked. A search of the room showed that no one was hiding in the room when we had left and the time it took to close the door, lock it, then unlock and open the door would have been around 5 or 6 seconds; too short a time for all that happened to be done by someone hiding in the room.

Even though there is a balcony outside the window, it was locked from the inside so no one could hide out there or get past us by the front door.

I still get goosebumps whenever I read ghost stories.

Hello, I am a paranormal researcher and there ARE ghosts. Most of the ones I have seen with the naked eye are more like shadows and the real images pop up on video and photos taken of the area. There is also a direct connection between ghosts and energy so don't be surprised to see aparitions around or near places where they can absorb energy. The most compelling things I have seen or heard is the evp's. Now you may hear people tell you that ghosts aren't real but until they do some serious research and actually try to get audio, video, and photos and hear answers to questions and aparitions in images taken at the same time you hear voices in the audio then don't take them seriously.

yes. I was in my nans a year after my grandad died. My thoughts were very much on him. The room were i slept always seemed sunny. I awoke early in the morning (probably because of the light) but when i looked over to the door I saw the figure of a man standing there. Looked exactly like my grandad but with dark hair and slimmer (like on photo's i'd seen of his younger years). Not only did i see this apparition but I also had the greatest feeling of euphoria. I had misseed him immensly until that point but took this as a goodbye from him. It helped me to come to terms with things. Im still a sceptic mind. I have thought about this alot and it may have been the way the light was shining and the fact that i hadn't woken properly and also that i was already thinking about him. Still, I guess it depends on what you believe and I did take a lot from this.

Yes. My parents used to live in a 200 yr old cottage. We had 2 resident ghosts, an old man in knee britches (who liked to throw stuff at my Dad) and a Black Labrador dog, who lurked in the kitchen. We also used to have The Grey Lady from next door visiting us. The house used to be the Village Post Office and General store. I never felt threatened or afraid.

I have one it happened when I was in 5th grade. I was in the daycare thing after school because my mom had to work late. Well it was around 5-7 pm and our daycare people decided to let us go up into the school. So me and the few friends that were still there decided to play hide and seek. I walked past this hallway with a doorway made of glass that goes onto the porch where you used to be able to wait for your parents. Just as I looked over there because I had a very strong and sudden need to look over there I saw a dark shadow of a man walk up to the door and peer in. Which was odd because it looked like he was in shadow which is impossible by the way the light was shining. Then this kid that always picked on me and fought with me on multiple occasions came over and said who is that. I replied "I have no idea" then he said that he had a strange feeling like something was making him sad, scared, and angry at the same time. After that experience we never fought again became good friends. As I typed this I remembered it so much it actually brought a few tears to my eyes which is odd because I haven't cried since 5th grade. I am now 16. almost 17 and am a junior in high school.

I also had another though it didn't happen to me it happened to my sister, though we lived in the same house. Apparently a person used to live in one of the many houses i have lived in. I don't remember what happened to her, but she didn't like us closing our bedroom doors at night so she would open them herself. Also any incense or candles we lit in that house smelled completely terrible. I also always had a strange feeling when I lived in that house, but at the time i was like 5 so I don't really remember it too well.

Yes, I was laying on the couch watching tv, and I felt like I was dozing off. Then a little girl all in white came up to my side and put her hand on my shoulder. I was awake because I freaked and looked around and no one was there. My dad has seen the same ghost in the same room. And he was in the kitchen standing.

Hi sweetie,
I have seen ghoosts before. They're always around us wether we can see them or not. On occasion one will pass over the veil and I will see it.
Sometimes they just pass through, sometimes they stay for awhile. My granddaughter had a child at her home, a ghost name Violet. My granddaughter tried everything to make her leave, because she was a playful youth.(the spirit, not my granddaughter, she's 43)
I went to visit this past March and saw Violet run through the house, chase the cat into the wood box. Would turn the burners off on the stove right after my granddaughter had turned them on. Would move things about in the kitchen, tug on my Granddaughters shirt. Finally My granddaughter looked at me and said, "Granny? What do I do?"
I told her that I would handel it.
I walked into the living room where violet set with the dog, and asked her why she was stil here. She needed to move on her family was waiting for her.
She said she thought my granddaughter looked alot like her mom and she missed her. So I told my granddaughter this and she cried. Then she told violet that she needed to go on to heaven that there was someone there for her, but she could come visit.
Soon after that the activity stopped and everything went back to normal, except on my granddaughters b-day she called me and told me that hile she was at work some one had planted 6 violet plants in her flowerbed. The kids were off at school I live in Ma she in Va, and her husband and she split. She wondered who had done it, but I know it was a very happy little ghost named Violet.

yes a young woman about 20 wearing a long pink gown came floating out of an upstairs bedroom doorway and floated right down the steps. My hubby and I spent the night at my dad's due to an ice storm. We both woke up at the same time and seen her. I seen a beautiful girl with all her skin on her. My hubby saw all the same things only a skeleton face instead of skin on it. I was not scared and he was .Go Figure!

Yes.
I was in my room as usual and then heard a clap, i looked outside nobody there I went down stairs to ask mum if she did/hear the clap .. she said no, our attick is upstairs and things move inside there.
One night I was outside and saw a girl in frills standing there, I thought she was real and was talking to her she said that she lost her parents .. ghosts do speak, she said that her parents went off i tried taking her hand but it was like touching .. air. I just ran inside screaming.
It was a weird experiance ... Also I went outside my old first school and heard people fighting close by like a war, (i was with my friend) but didn't see anything.

well im not 100% sure it was a ghost but heres what happend . Not long after my grandad passed away, i was coming home from a meal. And i 4got my key so i rang the door bell, my mum let me in, and i turned aroun and there was a tall black figure *man type* standing at the gate !! i shut the door and dint think about it. But when i got upstairs i said to my mum did you see that figue at the gate, she said yes!! when i got out of the taxi home no one was around!! still till this day i dont no who or what it was !! STRANGE AY
