Completely and utterly incorrect. In fact, it would fall under the heading of "pikuach nefesh", saving a life- and when that comes into play- there are only three things you cannot do:
1) Murder
2)Idoltary
3) Sexual immorailty (Bestiality, incest, sodomy, adultery)

EVERY other law is suspended and you are guilty of a massive sin if you do not attack the immediate action required to save the person.

That is complete bull how could you be committing a sin if you're saving someones life! It's the exact opposite of sinning, it's a good thing.

Bull - it would be a sin in Judaism to let the man drown. To do such a thing would be a mitzvah and nothing is greater than that.

Good Luck!!!

Absoutely false! As a matter of fact, one is **commanded** to break any law at all in order to save a human life with the exception of three commandments: those against idolatry, incest and murder.

In my opinion, and everything I've been taught, it is a mitzvah to save ANYONE's life. No matter who they are or what religious practice they have. It would be considered a sin to watch a person drowning - without making any attempt to save him.

Scripture has made provision for those who sojourn among you & explains how we are not to place a stumbling block before them.
So, helping or saving another is considered a positive thing to do.
