"If one person basis his entire life on something really illogical, we call him nuts. If many believe the same thing, we call it a religion."

Do you think there is any truth to this? Don't you think it is really illogical to believe that Zap, god made it all? Wouldn't it seem more logical to apply the same rules in logic to religion that we apply to science?

I have a lot of questions about chritianity. I definetly believe in God but I am not sure wether or not I believe in Jesus. Why do you believe in him? Do you believe the bible is 100% true? I have a hard time believing that because it was written by people. Also, say I do believe in Jesus. How can I be sure that I am going to heaven? Im so scared of going to hell I gave myself a panic attack today. I just know that I dont want to go to hell. Any experiances or encouragement from other christians would be grately appreciated.

Istead of having at least 2 different dictionaries for the english language. Along with several different accents. Hundreds even. Why not have ONE world standard version of English? That way nobody gets confused anymore regaudless if they call something a flashlight or a torch, a lift or an elevator, a motor or an engine. Why don't we do this? It's feasable is it not? Can't we all pull this off?

Example: a few nights ago, a man from India wrote about an online affair he was having. As I was answering it occured to me that there might be a different stigma regarding affairs in India than there is here in the U.S. (due to classes, religion, legalities, etc.). Also, occasionally I run into questions from men or women trying to meet member of the opposite sex. It's easy for me to say, "Just go up and introduce yourself!" In a different culture, it may not be appropriate to just approach a member of the opposite sex.

I'm curious if anyone else considers the culture of the asker before answering. If so, has realizing that you might not have a good understanding of the culture ever prevented you from posting a reply?
