Not all spiders are poisonous or even dangerous, but because there are a lot that are, it is likely people will want to kill all of them. I don't agree with this idea and I give the benefit of the doubt to people, but I can see why people act that way. There are a lot of illegals taking advantage of the system and wasting tax dollars. It's unfortunate but true.

People are very angry at the complete lack of progress toward solving immigration issues. The heightened awareness and increased tension tend to make such problems more common. Nicaraguans aren't so well known and understood by most Americans as to make them easy to distinguish from other Hispanics.
You might be in an area with a large population of illegal immigrants from Mexico. That would also increase the chances of being mistaken for being one of the crowd.
Other factors such as the length of your hair or the way you speak can also contribute.
The situation sucks, but think of it this way. At least you aren't a Christian Arab who must constantly deal with being suspected of terrorism by his neighbors.

Because most hispanics are 60% illegal population and they are against the law being here. They either come here to get away from crime, or to start a whole nother doozy of crime. Maybe at where people live they see alot of criminal mexicans, and think all of them are like that. You stereo-typing just the general public thinking people say that 100% of the time is us saying mexicans are illegal and drug dealers. Just put some thought into it okay. Good luck.

That's easy!
It's because of the preponderance of numbers. If there weren't so many Hispanic people in the US of Mexican heritage that are illegals, and of those, at least a third being criminals, it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion that anyone of Hispanic background was an illegal and a criminal besides.
I congratulate you on being legal, and wish you all the best. Just educate people as you go, and everything will be fine.

I don't know. I know I don't think so. I truly feel bad for all of the mexicans and hispanics that are being bashed by the United States' political leaders. I think Mexicans should be allowed to come over. Theres plenty of room over here, and we should share. A simple lesson we all learned in Kindergarten, and yet, so many cease to follow.
Many people don't like the idea of sharing, and are racist. So when they see a hispanic or mexican, or in your case Nicaraguan, they assume the worse because of the way you look, or dress or act. Thats how cruel some people are. Its sad, isn't it?

Lol ignore those people. They are obviously idiots considering they can't tell the difference between a Nicaraguan and a Mexican. They look nothing alike.

Im guessing you are near the border?? Im in San Diego CA & people always think that.... Its because thats what the news shows... If it was white people smuggling drugs or crossing illegally, then they would be on the news & everyone would think that of whites. Also America is dangerously close minded & still racist. Its sucks & is sad but true.

im black.....and its because many americans are ignorant and racist. the illegal immigration issue sets these racist stereotypes in society and people never actually research the facts. it is true that a large percentage of hispanics (im not sure about the majority) are illegal immigrants. and most of the illegal drugs sold in america come from drug trafficking in latin america....its funny though because people never say anything about the wealthy white drug lords that buy these drugs hmmm i wonder why........
its just another reason for people stay ignorant, buy into stereotypes, and continue being prejudiced. ignorance is bliss after all : )

Because it has become a stereotype in this country. I am Hispanic and my family comes from Spain and England, although I don't look it they used to yell at my father to "Go back to Mexico" when really we never even went at all! Its a lot like other stereotypes involving other races that unfortunately I don't see going away any time soon.
