"If one person basis his entire life on something really illogical, we call him nuts. If many believe the same thing, we call it a religion."

Do you think there is any truth to this? Don't you think it is really illogical to believe that Zap, god made it all? Wouldn't it seem more logical to apply the same rules in logic to religion that we apply to science?

The sheer audacity of the Bible is the key to its tenacity.

The more complex the lie, the easier it is to believe.

The logic isn't what differs between religion and science, the premises are what differ. Scientists know that there is something out there that they can't define (yet), and scientists know that the nature of what they do know isn't necessarily the complete truth (see the Newton/Einstein/Planke evolution), but religious people come to the debate with a general reason for everything (though it is unproven). One side focuses on deductive reasoning and one focuses on inductive reasoning. It should be clear that both usually fail in understanding that they don't understand what they think they do and this requires faith on both sides to believe it.Interestingly, both sides think they KNOW the truth.

To answer your question- yes, the same thought process used in science should be used in religion, but vice versa, the same thought process used in religion should be used (or acknowledged) in science - just ask Einstein.

NO it is not illogical. It started from the beginning that Adam and Eve believed in God. (You can read this in the first chapter). Science is made by God to prove that he is the creater of this universe. Why is everything (every little thing) so perfect and if it was off by a little tiny bit everything that sustains life on earth and all life on the earth. why is everything so fine tuned more than a thousand things are exactly right, how can that happen by "chance"?

Phrased another way; the only difference between a delusion and a religion is the number of people that believe it.

As a blanket statement, then the answer is no. If a guy goes around saying "the grass is always greener" (which I know many people that do) then that doesn't constitute a religion.

I think there could be truth to that. once you have a good amount of people following you, it all works and gets into the public better. Yes, I think it's illogical to think he made us all.

Well since science is based off of observation and understanding, then the most logical conclusion to the origin of life is some form of creator, since abiogenesis is neither observed naturally nor artificially achievable.
