i would absolutely and although its a personal choice, i do think its kind of selfish to do otherwise. its kind of like people "trying to keep control of their lives after death". anyway what would you do?

I am a Catholic -- and a registered organ and tissue donor. They can have the eyes, bones, marrow, blood, heart, lungs, liver, pancreas, voice box, skin and anything else that can be harvested. I want to go to the next community drive that comes along looking for a marrow donor or liver donor...I would happily be a live donor. As long as they do not pick up any of my sinfulness by having a part of me in them, I'm happy to do it :)

I'm kind of attached to my organs at the moment. (!) I am listed as a marrow donor, however. When I die, I prefer to maximize my body's potential for the good of society by being an organ donor and by letting a medical school utilize my cadaver for medical knowledge.

my best friend has HepatitisC, and I've offered her a portion of my liver, however, we are not compatible, I adore her and do not want to lose her, so we wait. In general, though I would donate. in fact it's in my will and drivers' license. I've been fortunate to see cornea transplant, when I was a nurse, and someone has the gift of sight. Honorable choice.

I would love to donate my organs to someone who needs it. Think of all the poor innocent children who need new organs to live.

After I'm dead, they can take anything they want to. I'd consider it an honor to be able to help another person live after my own life has ended.

No.

With what I've seen in hospitals and heard from medical people, I'd be too afraid that someone might get anxious to 'harvest' my usable organs before I was quite dead yet.

So, whatever I've got, for good or ill, will die with me and get cremated and put in an urn to sit on my daughter's mantelpiece.

Oh well . . . .
