Example: a few nights ago, a man from India wrote about an online affair he was having. As I was answering it occured to me that there might be a different stigma regarding affairs in India than there is here in the U.S. (due to classes, religion, legalities, etc.). Also, occasionally I run into questions from men or women trying to meet member of the opposite sex. It's easy for me to say, "Just go up and introduce yourself!" In a different culture, it may not be appropriate to just approach a member of the opposite sex.

I'm curious if anyone else considers the culture of the asker before answering. If so, has realizing that you might not have a good understanding of the culture ever prevented you from posting a reply?

It's really nice to get into another's culture and make a more subtle answer. I think we always consider that unless you a man. Had to dig, but really. I don't aswer if it's a cultural question sometimes, but I like your sensibilities. How nice. But then I'm male so I guess I'm not supposed to consider such things, because I can't remember being too put off.

You are very right in thinking that. I answered once to a guy in Egypt about a pre-marital sex. The next day I saw on CNN that 10 people in Cairo were murdered!
