That give a later date for the writing of the New Testament? I'd really like to know where this assumption comes from.
No disrespect intended towards anyone, I'm only curious!

For the record, I believe that it was all written by the end of the 1st century. But I know of many who believe otherwise.

How is it that Mary and Joseph were married yet she was a virgin?? Back in those days I am sure you got married and 'consumated' your marriage immediately - yet how does the bible explain her to be a "virgin'?

What is your opinion of the argument made by many Christians that people with black skin are descendents of Cain, whom God supposedly cursed after he killed Abel by making his skin black. I find this argument to be ridiculous. However, if you think this is true, how could you as a person with black skin still want to be a Christian? If you think it is not true, then what is your opinion as to where people of different skin colors came from? Obviously, Adam and Eve had to be some color; white, black, brown…..

White folks, you are welcome to give your thoughts and opinions as well.

Is it the link between science and creation?

Do you believe they are dead people or a new/old type of species that we never could never understand.

Ive seen and spoken to ghosts via a ouija board. Never again will i play with it.

Do you believe science saying there are 10 dimensions could mean these entities are within one closest to ours? Like we're living in 3 dimensional and we can see 2 dimensional and understand the 4th.
There is no distance between our 3rd dimension to 2 dimension like when you touch a drawing. Could this be the case of a higher dimension entity? It can appear any place any time it wants to?

I've been doing some reading, and it seems that the disciples were hard-pressed to agree with each other, never mind having a really hard time grasping Jesus' message. How do you know?

We sing, Standing on the Promises, but all we seem to do is sit in the pews. Shouldn't we be about our Fathers work? Teaching and setting an example to those who are lost, and held captive to that liar. Luke 4:18-19

I do but in my day to day I fail that. I feel like I should but for some reason or another I do not. I want to shed off the thing that prevents me from doing so.

I want everyone to feel safe, protected, warm, and loved. Yet I don't put it into practice and I feel shame.

This barrier needs to go but I have yet to figure out how to move beyond it. I do this in small amounts with my wife and some around me in small ways but I want to open the door wide.

I'm changing like this and I don't know why. I don't know how I got to this point. It is very strange.

why have so many of them committed suicide on account of their feelings? If they could just 'unchoose' homosexuality and 'choose' heterosexuality why wouldn't they do so, rather than taking their own lives? How can you justify calling it a choice?

I'm asking for other opinions, because maybe I'm just a prude, or an old fuddy duddy and all, but recently we had a mother that would begin to breast feed her new born right in the middle of Sunday morning service. Now, she wasn't in the back, or the balconey...she was right down front. I understand it's a natural thing, and women are freer to do things like this openly now..but in church? Am I wrong about this? Waiting on your opinions!

OK, so I'm waiting outside this motel to get a room, and it's a cheap motel, and I'm wearing a dress so I'm not really upset about being mistaken for a prostitute. What I'm upset about is that I go back to my boyfriend, tell him what happened, and say "Do I look like a whore?" I don't think I do, obviously - but is it so wrong to expect him to just say "No"? Did he have to consider it and then point out various things that might have led to the assumption? Do I have a right to be upset with him?

I ask this seriously, this isn't a joke. Are you embarrased when inferior Christians ask Atheists why they celebrate Christmas?

I do not mean this question as a slam on Christians or Christianity,

Regardless of wether you call it as Christians the holiday Christmas, or Jewish people who call that season Hanukkah, or the Romans who called it Festival of Lights,

we all deserve a day for family, family is the greatest gift of all.

I have to be at work in a little over an hour. It is pouring down rain and the streets are flooding in my area. I have no car so I have to walk a block to the unsheltered busstop, waiting till the bus comes (half the time it is late) and then walk 2 blocks from the stop to my job. I know I am going to get soaked and it would make sense to wear some other clothes and maybe flipflops since I have to walk through water and then change into my uniform in the store bathroom, HOWEVER my boss has a strict policy that we have to come in the door already dressed for work or we are sent home. Of course she has a mercedes so she isn't walking in the water like I am. The is no place to change before going into work because the surrounding businesses are a fancy restaraunt, a couple eye doctors offices and some other private businesses, thus no place to change but at my store. I know I am going to be misserable all day standing around in wet shoes and clothes (and no I can't take off my shoes.

While praise and worship service was going on, everyone was in the Spirit and people were shouting, My sister was shouting and running, then when she got to the front of church, infront of everyone, she fell and slid as if she was trying to get a home run, We laughed about it later and saw it on tape. She was ok but it was so funny though.

Today's word of the day made me wonder about Deuteronomy, the third book in the bible.

The word of the day reads, "deuteragonist (doo-tuh-RAG-uh-nist, dyoo-) noun

The second most important part in a play.

[From Greek deutero- (second) + agonistes (contestant, actor).] -Anu Garg (words at wordsmith.org)"

Why is the third book in the Hebrew Bible (Old Testament) called the second (Deutero). Does this mean that Deuteronomy is the second most important book of the bible? If so, what is the *most* important book (of the old testament)? Or is the the second book of the story of Moses?

Bible scholars?
