What are your family traditions for July forth?

are you doing any thing special .... having a cook out.... watching fire works... etc.

we will probably cook out and watch fire works at our local baseball stadium ... we have severe drought conditions so... we don't want to chance shooting off our own fire works

Get the chores done ... outside work, pack the coolers with sodas, waters, sandwiches and snacks ... grab a couple of camp chairs ... then --

Arrive at least an HOUR Early for the 4th of July Community Fireworks Event -- so that I can park easily, set up my chairs and camera/tripod and be able to relax a bit BEFORE the show starts -- then ENJOY Taking the Digital Images of the Great Fireworks for the year!

My sister used to make this Jello dessert. It consisted of blue and red Jello, cool whip, and angle food cake. You put a little of each into clear cups so that there are layers of red white and blue. It was a bit silly really, but fun and tasted good.

When we were in a place that allowed fireworks, we would buy those little tanks. We would then open up the cardboard part of the tank and add other fireworks inside by just twisting the fuses together. We would have competitions of who could make the most destructive tank or who could make their tank have the most dramatic death. Fun stuff.

We also used to make rootbeer with dry ice, but I was always too young to participate in that. It tasted good though.

we go to some dear friends barbeque they have one every year and hopefully I will be able to hostess next year cause we are closing on our house in 2 wks and then next year I am going to invite them . good luck and have fun .
