effort, time and points to learn how Christians think and why they think the way they do?

Do we learn more by asking people what they think or by telling them what we think?

For the record, my tally is 477 questions asked, 477 stars received, and I've answered 473 questions.

Have you learned what Christians think? and why? Has it changed your opinion of us?

and you always learn more by listening to people about people.

I think the best way to truly understand where someone is coming from is to get to know them as a whole person, aside from just religious considerations. I seriously doubt that asking Christians questions on this website and reading all their answers will truly teach you how Christians think. You'd be better off having a deep, personal discussion with a Christian friend over coffee or drinks. Even then the best you can do is understand one Christian's mind, not the Christian mindset as a whole.

Does this make you a better person? From the previous repsonses, I can only conclude you have segregated yourself from others by holding yourself up as the shining example of what God would want. Do YOU know What Would Jesus Do? My guess is no. Does God really care how much pointless time you or any of us spend on-line chatting about nonsense...no! Stop patting yourself on the back. You are not a martyr nor does it make you better than anyone else here. Any good Christian would go about their lives quietly living the word of God. If it weren't for people like you, I'd probably still be Christian. So pat yourself on the back for that one too. You earned a star!

Well, I can honestly say you still don't know. Most Christians here do not know themselves. I know because I was in several different churches before finding one that used only the bible and stayed there 24 + years. Southern Baptist, Assembly of God, Oneness Pentecostals and every other denomination has an official church doctrine, and some of their members don't abide by the official church doctrine.I have Southern Baptist say they don't believe they are the one and only church, but when you really get to know that doctrine and get to know many leaders in that church you find that in reality they do. I have hear many Southern Baptist preachers say this, I asked one what he thought about the Missionary Baptist and he said they are going to hell because they do not believe in once saved always saved.

I have invested more time since you asked. I was raised Missionary Baptist so was inside looking out, then joined the Southern Baptist age 14 in 1966, again inside looking out, then spent one and a half year in the Assembly of God church spoke in tongues, again I was on the inside looking out, then spent one and a half year in the Oneness, Jesus Only, United Pentecostal church and they did not consider my tongue speaking in the AOG church from God so I had to be re taught, spend some time as a prospect so to speak then they had to approve of my tongue speaking as from God. Again I was on the inside looking out. I then studied with the Jehovah's witness for 6 months until my good Pentecostal Holy Spirit dad came over and put a gun to my head and said he would kill me if I became a full JW. I did not believe their doctrine enough to die, so I left. claimed to be atheist a few months after they end of the world did not take place in the fall of 1975 like the Jw's said, then on April 22, 1976 I was baptized into Christ according to Scripture and spent the next 24 + years preaching and teaching in the churches of Christ, again on the inside looking out. I am now Wiccan.
So I can honestly answer your question and say yes, I have invested more time and effort. I have read the bible cover to cover hundreds of times, that is the New Testament and the Old Testament only dozens of times. I did word studies and would spend many hours a week preparing sermons. I had to know the Doctrines I had left inside out due to being attacked by those church members because I left them.

I am not bragging, just answering your question.
I get hate emails now from Christians because I do know how they thing and believe and know the bible and they cannot stand it.

You have to be careful when basing your salvation on what anonymous people on line post, some only pretend to be Christians and post vile things to make us look bad, and even others do not always know the answers but post answers anyway.

If you are looking for the true teachings of Jesus, read the New Testament. If you want to know why Catholics believe what and why we do, read the Catechism of the Catholic Church.

Good Luck and God Bless!

Of course we learn more by asking than telling. when telling we already know the answer, when asking maybe something new will be learned. I have learned a lot by reading answers to questions that interest me. Good for you for making the effort to learn and share information.

And out of how many of those 450 did you actually get an answer to the question you asked? I suspect 15%..

You cannot get a good read on how Christians think here. Or anyone else for that matter. Too many people with more than one account and too many trolls.

I ask and answer in part to learn about others and for others to learn about me.

I ask questions in order to see view points other than my own.

I answer questions to do the same for someone else.

I want to know how everyone thinks including those of my own faith.

We learn more, not just by asking, but by listening.

We also learn by watching. Many people say one thing but do another. If we want to really know someone, watch what they do instead of what they say.

It's harder to be kind than to talk about being kind.
