Yes, i'm 27 years old and just started going to church, thanks to my wife. I like it and am very interested. I am also doing bible studies with our pastor 1 time a week. We are studying the gospel of John right now, and also Exodus. But i have a question , i hope it makes sense.......

Didn't GOD give the 10 commandments to Moses so that the people would follow them? And if thats true, then how come in the chapter John of the new testimate, Jesus tells people pretty much not to follow those? Jesus is GODS son, so how come they both said 2 different things, if they are one?

I hope this makes sense, i am not trying to be mean or anything. I am just asking so i can learn and continue in my bible studies. I just was a little confused about this part.

The never ending drink questions are irritating we can agree right?
But is it anymore irritating than questions like "hey nonbelievers dont you just love wiping your butthole with the bible"
I find these questions just as asinine as some of the fundy questions/statements that we are all going to hell.
What do you think?

One of my answers from less than three hours ago was reported and deleted. So far, everything I've said today has had backing within the Hebrew bible, you know, the one that hasn't been tampered with by Greeks and Romans. Yet, someone felt the need to report one of my answers. Is this yet another example of christian persecuting because someone doesn't agree with them and has the proof to back their position?

Will my persecutor have the guts to tell me who they are and why they reported my answer, or will they simply hide and hope I don't figure it out?

I think this so called Pro Wrestling should actually be banned from television and i also believe theres nothing about it that's real other than the idiots that actually do the wrestling. I also believe it teaches children violence and were all aware of how many kids get badly hurt each year trying to mimmick what they see these idiots doing in the ring.

reading the Bible doesn't count, because reading the bible can produce historical knowledge as well.

...and other non-believers consider the abrahamic religions to be downright dangerous? Believers, do we not have the right to defend ourselves and our culture from something we consider a threat to the very planet, while proactively trying to educate?

I am currently at work at my father's firm and the janitor's always say hello to me. why?

I don't want to talk to them, is there someone I can talk to about this? My father doesn't own the building, just the business here in Washington DC on the 39th floor.

Have you ever sat on a train and/or bus, and seen two complete strangers start a conversation over say, a book one of them was reading.
When i see that, i ask myself how do people do that, i get so self concious I never start a conversation, and if some one does, im so uncomfortable i smile, answer and look down...

Anyone else do this or am I just an awkward teen ?

Christians, please consider the following hypothetical question: You are at work in a high-rise building along with 5,000 other people in a big city. You hear a giant explosion in the floors above you. Immediately, you realize that the building is moving and is also on fire. Parts of the roof above you are beginning to cave in. You rush for the fire escape and sprint downstairs. As you are running, you pray that God will protect you. You finally reach the ground and run out of the building. You are bruised, cut up, and covered with ash, but you are alive. Later that evening you hear on the news that you are one of about 1,000 people to make it out of the building. The other 4,000 people died due to crush injuries, burns, or smoke inhalation. Question: Did God answer your prayer? Is the fact that your alive due to God’s intervention or protection?

money, he said he and his daughter were visiting from South Carolina, and they didn't have any money to eat, my first thought was how do you have money to travel, but you don't have money to eat?But I gave him the money anyway, because he really appeared to look poor, but today at McDonald's drive through the same man approached me again, I remembered him, but he did not remember me, but this time he said he was he and his wife was visting from New York, and did not have any money to buy food. " I told him no, and told him that yesterday he told me he was from South Carolina, and it was his daughter instead of his wife. He walked away looking very disappointed.I feel guilty for not giving him the money, but had he stick to the same story perhaps I would of felt some sympathy for him. Has that ever happened to you? Was I wrong?

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son (Jesus) that whosoever believe in Him shall not perish but have eternal life, This is what I believe, and I feel great with the knowledge God love me and Jesus paid the price for me so that I do not have to go to hell.

This is a previously resolved question. (so called). Although the answer chosen as best had some sentimental appeal, it really failed to address this fundamentally important issue.
