I think you know that reasoning is askew, silly. The way to get to heaven is Jesus.

Its been my personal experience that the more you do for others the more you get screwed over so I do believe the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

Take care of yourself first, no one else is going to do if for you. Never lend money to anyone, not even your own kids, never help anyone everytime they ask, dont give anything to anyone if there is even a remote possibility that you might need it, and that includes money.

Not "bad intentions" but just remember what the world has done to Saints - they have tortured, them, vilifed them, and killed them. Look at the rumours the media spread about Mother Theresa. Look at what happened to Princess Diana.

Human beings HATE people who do good things.

How cute, was just looking at answer #4. Remember that old song by Bachman Turner Overdrive, "If you want to get to heaven, you've got to raise a little hell." But seriously, whoever made this up was a very uptight person who wanted you to realize that no matter how hard you might try to be good, you can still sink into the pit of hell. Just believe in JC and do good, you'll be alright.

It's a metaphor, the point of that saying is that good intentions sometimes fail or go bad along the way, not that you should not have any or have bad ones, but that you should think about what you are doing and the cost of the consequences if it fails. In the context of make a bad choice and your life will become a hellhole you have created for yourself. You don't have to wait to die, lol.

The "hell" is the perception of your deed, no matter what your intent was, as somehow not pleasing the recipient or observer, therefore their pavement is "ego". However if you're dropping nuts and empty prescription bottles on 'em from a high brance, all bets are off.

Don't worry, Squirrelly. Due to over-crowding, Hell has been closed to new residents. You'll just have to make do with Heaven.
