Treating the Bible as if it is nothing but toilet paper is counterproductive, maybe.
I could see someone arguing that it'll be good for the Christians to stop viewing the Bible as sacred and holy, but I doubt if merely ridiculing it that way (at least put *some* thought into it!) accomplishes anything other than provoking a reactionary response. The goal should be to educate theists, not just make them angry.

It seems to me that many of the "questions" aren't really. They are just mean spirited attacks on something they don't believe. It goes both ways, and we all have seen it.
Sincerity and maturity were not required upon sign up, so I figure just work through the chaffe to get to the good stuff.
PS- I really don't think anyone will be weak headed enough to trade in the beliefs of their life because of a snotty comment made on Yahoo, but I do think people may consider different view points made by sincere askers/answererers.

I'm here to love, laugh, learn, and share. Sometimes, I find nonbelievers questions funny. Even if they are idiotic. I find some Christian questions offensive, if they approach the subject defensively.
If I find them irritating, I don't answer. If I find them funny, I may or may not answer. If I find them thought provoking I will answer. Some subjects I just don't want to get into and will not answer....

I'm pretty sure those questions aren't what the Yahoo! folks had in mind when they came up with Answers, but once again it illustrates the main concept of life, which is, out of every 10 people there are 2 who just want to ruin everything by being stupid.

All of the questions that get asked over and over, regardless of how many attempts are made to answer them, are pretty irritating. But, if not for them I would have to ask more questions myself and lose points.

I agree with your reference to the asnine statement. Witty, faith-challenging questions are interesting if they are worded well. Its a bitter-sweet relationship and I am sorry to say that it has taken me this long to figure that one out.

I think that the annoying ones are the ones with endless scripture. I feel discouraged and a little disappointed in people who can't form their own opinions.

I agree.
I don't see the point in coming here just to insult someone, and even if I did think that was a good idea, I'd sure want to see more creative, witty insulting.

Yeah, I just read that one-the questions that vex me are the ones disrespecting someone's religion, holy people or their holy scriptures.
