The footnote on Matthew 7:1 says that 'The Christian is not to judge hypocritically or self-righteously...To obey Christ's commands in this chapter, we must first evaluate a person's character...'. I feel hard to understand well the difference between 'judge' and 'evaluate'. If people evaluate something, don't they judge them?

I feel horrible and guilty about being aroused all the time. It has gotten to the point where it is maddening. Everyone tells me to just find a guy to have sex with or pleasure myself but I want to save myself for my mate. I'm finding it difficult to sleep and I want to overeat. I have avoided reading anything arousing even changed my diet. What can I do so that I won't end my life over something so insane as this? Please help me!!!!

And did anyone else come away from watching it just a bit creeped out ? I don't think I'm exaggerating here when I say it had the flavor of a cult rally. I get that there is a cult of personality here, but I mean jeez, when "Diddy" or whatever he's calling himself now started with the call and response with the crowd and TALKING to Diana as if she were actually there...all with a sampled soundtrack of "Every Breath You Take" by Sting...I dunno It was just creepy. Anyone else get that ?

the majority of her ashes were spread out at sea, then there were three urns designated for my mom and aunt and my stepdad and i were given these silver teardrop pendants containing her ashes. we both wear them on a regular basis. i have recently discussed with some close friends of mine how they feel about this. some say its cool, great even, but others say somethings just not right about it. id really like some outside opinions.........

Ok, so here is the deal, I married a man when we had known each other for three years, we then (three more years later) had a child together, and he never supported us as a family, and he always relied on his family to support us. I found out that he was still dealing drugs and stealing from his elderly grandmother. I couldn't take it anymore, so my son and I left him.
Before the birth of our son, we were both unfaithful to each other. ( it was an open secret, don't ask don't tell) We both know that we do not want to be toghether anymore. There is no longer any attraction, physically, spiritually, mentally or otherwise.

A few months after I left I met another man who does support us, and loves my son very much. I have not yet divorced my husband, but am trying very hard to get that done. I have lived with the new man for 4 1/2 years. We want to marry. Is this acceptable to God?

Please no angry or stupid answers. I need to know this.

Why do people need to convert other people I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t like me if I tried my hardest to convince you god didn’t exist you would want me to shut up correct ?
So then why do it to other people can’t they believe what they want . If the want to believe that god is a feather serpent let them what harm does it do to you I don’t care what religion you are don’t force your beliefs onto me or anyone else if you want to have a conversation about religious beliefs please do just don’t try to change others people beliefs
and one more thing and this is to everyone who doesn’t understand evolution. know that evolution doesn’t happen by chance but by natural selection and variation I will try my best to explain this. If you look around you will see that nobody and no animal of the same species is alike. Even identical twin are different this is variation. natural selection occurs when one of these many variations is selected over another variation and the variation or

If a woman publicly stated that she had an abortion, would you walk up to her, look her in the face, and call her a murderer?

And to make it fit the section: would doing so be a sin?

I know I know, this question belongs in the surfing section of Y&A, but no one ever hangs out there anyway, and surfers are such nazis.

Two questions about these stances on abortion:

1) What are the exact passages from the Bible that refer directly to abortion?

2) How can something that applies to all women around the world be argued against with one religious stance?

isn't it enough that we believe in Christ, no matter what church we belong to? i don't see Lutherans going to get Baptists to join their church or vice versa, so why must you try to convert the members of other Christian churches? isn't it enough to just believe in Jesus no matter which denomination you belong to?

BTW, I used to think that Prince William is the more attractive of the two. Although he is good looking, I've changed my mind! That Prince Harry is very handsome! The Princess would be proud of her boys. I love them for being such good sons.

I can't help but notice that a large number of the worlds problems are cause by conflicts in relation to religious views.

Do you think if everyone was either Athiest or Agnostic that the world would be a much happier place?

Some examples I can think of:

Terrorism - Islamic extremists

Hatred towards gays etc...as their behaviour is seen as wrong (stemed religiously).

These weird american religious channels...which just seem an extortionate way to brain wash people and take their money.

Slavery - there was also slavery of white people in the middle east, not just the africans!

I can't really be bothered to write more...but chip in with some examples if you like!

Need a few million for a big building. Plus an outreach budget, paid staffing, a car, my salary, printing, postage, a web site, youth programs for the kids....

Religions aren't cheap ya know. Don't worry, i won't tell you how to live your life or brainwash you with a bunch of superstition.

In fact, I think the best philosophy would encourage debate, ask people to use their own reason and apply logic. Disagreement and questioning sound like a lot more fun that reading quotes from an old book. Maybe there isn't ONE big answer. Maybe we just need a few good qestions.

But rather enlightened to share what you believe?

I've seen alot of people who, rather than try to explain their beliefs, yell and scream, spew angry things at the people challenging them.

I've seen it from christians I've seen at from atheist, jews, muslims, everyone so i'm not attacking one group, just posing this question.

I fill great that I know enough about my beliefs to where I dont feel hurt when someone attacks them. Do you think the people that scream or get angry are the ones who really dont know enough about what they believe?
